Grade the Titans draft: rounds 4-7

Hands down...I give "A" grade for the entire draft...great evaluation this year.

 

I'd give rounds 4-7 a C. If it weren't for Rolle, I'd give it a D.

 

I really think we missed by not taking Anthony Dixon or Jonathan Dwyer, even at extreme value picks.

 

I would give it a B-

We had to settle for Morgan when I'm pretty sure the Titans were high on Graham and JPP and had both of them higher on their boards.

I love the Damian Williams pick!

I think we should of drafted a CB instead of Curran with that 3rd round pick.

The Lendale and Vickerson trade just to move up 7 spots in one round and 9 in another was STUPID. We shouldn't have even swapped the picks, it should have been lendale/vickerson for a 5th of 6th straight up. seahawks are laughing at how easily they landed these 2 players and the 2 players they got with our swapped picks. This trade brings our draft grade down alot.

Myron Rolle was a good pick. Anyone know if he is related to Antrelle, or Samari?

Rusty Smith? Cool name, but we could of got LeFevour or a higher rated QB.
I personally wanted Snead, so that when Im playing Madden 2011 and vince young gets hurt, I can have another fast quarterback to run the ball with. (I run my QBs alot! lol)

I was really surprised that we didnt take a offensive lineman at all or a power running back like Blount. I thought he would be a perfect fit in Tennessee.

I think we should sign Daniel Loper to a contract as a backup, Get Bulluck and Mawae back.

 

We signed Stafon Johnson as a UDFA. Very similar to Lendale.

 

The 3rd day I would have to give them a C. I like the Rolle and Verner picks a lot but the rest were kind of puzzling.

I didn't like the fact that we went with Smith when Pike was still on the board, we also passed on Dwyer who in my opinion could be the steal of the draft and could step in for Lendale immediately.

I like the Robert Johnson pick but he probably won't amount to anything more than a special teams player or a backup.

The Mariani pick was a little surprising since we've already picked up a few returners already. Best case scenario he becomes a good slot receiver a la Wes Welker.

The Howard pick I didn't care too much about, probably won't make the team like most 7th rounders.

Rusty who? Oh yeah this guy, the 20something QB just drafted with the body of a 45 year old. But Pops has a cannon for an arm. What a steal!
I'm afraid we'll have to start him soon before he develops alzheimers.

 

Rounds 4-7 I didn't like as much. I do like the Rolle and Verner picks, as well as Johnson. In terms of value and need I give those 3 together a B+ or maybe an A.

But the Smith and Mariani picks felt like throw-away picks to me. For a team that often hits pretty well on some late round picks, I felt like there could have been some D linemen or linebackers or running backs that would have had more promise of a future with the team.

I know nothing really about Howard, but I inherently love any 7th round linemen we take. Those are usually Wash or Munch wanting an experiment, and I like to see it take shape.

I say C+ when you add it all together for the final day.
