The sports science video makes me feel better about the pick, not that I wasn't feeling good about it already. But when you watch it and see the intangibles you have to like that. I'm not saying he will be Larry Fitzgerald in fact he probably wont be but it's kinda cool to know he can do a lot of the same stuff as Fitz in the gym or lab or whatever you call that.

No. He forgot the Fisherspeak of "there's no number ones, just starters."

Aside from that, though, he could be right. That video compares his catch radius to Larry Fitzgerald. His lack of speed but incredible hands makes me think of Marvin Harrison. His ability to cut and create separation (plus, again, the hands) despite the lack of great speed makes me think of Jerry Rice.

I'm not saying he'll be as great as any of those three, but he might well wind up a starter on this Titans squad.

I thought he would go in the second, down from the first, as time went by, but some mock experts legitimately had this guy as their number one WR (Matt Maguire, WalterFootball, for one). His lack of speed in workouts, the forgiveness Dez Bryant received plus Golden Tate's workouts, as well as the general lack of WR need that abnormally characterized this draft, are BIG factors as to why he fell to us in the third round. Big, strange factors that add up to something that would not normally happen. It was a very good reason to take him when we did.

I would tell people to think a little more in terms of former USC WR Steve Smith of the Giants. If you come at it from that angle, I think you'll be more inclined to accept the pick.

Really, with him, I'm like, Yeah yeah, returner, great. I'm more inclined to think he'll perform as a receiver. If he's merely adequate as a returner, He won't be a long-term guy at that position in all likelihood.

Also, when we picked him, I started thinking that maybe, just maybe, the Titans have started to learn how to draft receivers. HUGE value for us in round three for several reasons. Williams is going to push Britt from this standpoint: as a receiver, he does all the little things correctly. Britt is big, physical, very fast for his size, but needs to become a better technician. Williams is a great technician with a good physical base upon which to build more muscle and better blocking skills. These two will push each other to become better, I believe. And I'll remind us that Britt was the best thing we saw at KOR all year, so already Williams has to prove he's better than Britt in that area, while also trying to be the #1 guy at PR.

I think this is going to be good.

I feel the exact same way. I think he will be a steal. The Titans did well in my book this year in the draft. Got some great quality guys to fill positions. Oh, I'm not predicting Williams as Fitzgerald but who's to say he can't do it?? Just sayin', he's got the skills right??;)

The Sports Science video should make everyone feel a lot better for the time being.
