Fuel vs Rage Against The Machine

RATM will win hands down, but they've never done much for me.

I remember when their debut video came out and me and my friends cracked up about it all night. "Man aint got no family or a pocket full of shellsss"... one of my first WTF moments.

Fuel was cool. Great in concert, and they were local guys... sorta.

A case of chronic lyricosis will indeed cause that.

 

Rage for me, I liked them but not a huge amount.

What sold it for me was when I saw them a festival in the 90's, I was watching them more as an impartial observer but by the end of it I was sold. One minute you were standing there wondering if the other stage would be better, the next you were caught up in a moshpit (the size I have never seen there) being carried to all parts of the field with each and every jump. I used to go to a lot of gigs but never seen a reception like it.

Rage carried the torch of a genre and were by far the best ever rock/rap band there ever was. Not only did they do it the best, they executed it to perfection.

They are one of very few bands that are borderline impossible to cover for one reason: you can't emulate Zack De La Rocha and Tom Morello.

Fuel was a marginal cookie cutter rock band with a few good songs. RATM were Grammy-winning pioneers.

This is a no-contest.

 

Zack De La Rocha had the awesomest delivery.
