I don't care how a back does it. Just get yards, get TD's, and break tackles.

Don't feed me this finesse back, power back bs. Just get me production and I'm happy.

CJ...your a beast. Keep doing what you do.

huh? were you taking this as some sort of diss on CJ?

If anything its to show how horrible a "powerback" LW was.

    Where did i say that?

I'm using perspective since some posters worship eddie but hate lendale. The object in the NFL is to get yards, 4 plays to get 10. There are no style points for looking muscular.

That's just dumb! You need yards to get first downs and to score. The job of a runner is to get those yards.

WTF else is a runningback supposed to do? So ignore the primary job of a back and use something vague and mysterious like the wearing down concept?

After we wear them down what do we do?

Lendale(Fat loser) vs Eddie George(God of RBs!)

    Touchdowns

Lendale 1 TD every 26 carries.
Eddie 1 TD every 42 carries.

    Runs over 20 yards

    Lendale 1.4% of carries.
    Eddie 1.3% of carries.

% of carries that resulted in a 1st down..

    Eddie 18.2%
    Lendale 19.7%

But Lendale is the loser whale who just falls down and Eddie is better than Jim Brown.

Stats are for losers. Both those guys got it done, and won games. Besides, LenDale is NOT a powerback. He was just larger than other guys so he used that to his advantage.

I will admit that CJ starts out in 2nd gear, while Eddie started out in first. But if CJ gets a crease at all he's in 5th gear before Eddie gets to 3rd. Confusing analogy but just go with it...lol

Now factor in the fact that LW played against teams built to stop the pass and fell back in zones to stop VY vs the fact that Eddie played against teams built to stop the run and geared to stop him w/ blitzes and stacked boxes.

i.e. Eddie's 2.3 ypc vs the Ravens in 2000 >>>>>>>>>>> LW's 2.7 vs the Saints in 2007 or his 2.9 vs the Falcons in 2007.

stats don't tell the whole story. I don't care how the Saints or Falcons ranked as running defenses that year. they were no where NEAR the Ravens of 2000. Teams don't stack their lines w/ big fat guys like Goose and Sam Adams so guys like Ray Lewis can run around and make all the tackles anymore. The closest to that style of D now would be the Vikings but they're still not even close... but just for s and giggles, I looked it up too... LW had a 1.2 ypc average against the Vikings.

Teams these days are lighter, smaller and faster in order to stop the pass.
Teams in Eddie's day were bigger and stronger in order to stop the run.

That's a load of crap. Teams were geared to stop our passing game when we had a QB with a 70 rating? You are joking right? Our passing game has sucked!
