I say he breaks 2,000 again. With Young improving and getting an entire off season to work with Dinger and his improved WR corps I just don't see teams being able to key on CJ as much as they used to.

I say we have a top 8 offense this year.

1600 sounds about right for me. I'm hoping he splits carries more than he did last year.

First things first, I do believe he will be splitting carries to a greater extent this year. That alone should drop his total by a few hundred yards.

The other element on my mind is that last year he had at least 2 runs of 80+ yards. I really perceive those as an anomaly --- very difficult to repeat that particular stat of 80+yard runs this year.

Put the two together, and it's difficult to project more than 1500.

I believe it was three runs of over 85 yards. 91 against the Texans, 89 against the Jags and 85 against the Cards. No one else has ever had three of those in an entire career.

    Anomaly .... no.

    Talent .... yes.

That shouldn't be used against him. In fact that's a strong arguement as to why he'll have another HUGE season.

I think you are on to the key for CJ being able to repeat, and that is his ability make the most with the carries he will get. I think his carries will be down a bit (maybe quite a bit), but he has the potential to have many of these long runs. He can get big chunks at a time . . . in a way that previous 2000 yard backs could not (yes they could get them, but not like CJ). I don't see him having a hard time repeating three runs of this size . . . I can see him having more. Give him enough chances in the season, and he will get them.

Just because of history, I don't think he repeats. His carries will drop, and will need to drop for his longevity, but he will have lots of success and lots of long runs. I will go with 1650 rushing and 700 receiving . . . solid year!

^no he's still going to be pushing for money on the longterm contract, I think he's going to work his *** off this season. I say 1500+ rushing and 600 receiving. It would be nice to have the only rusher to do 2,000 twice, but check our record last year.
