I've seen RB's fall of the map one year to the next (George, Alexander, Tomlinson) but rarely have I seen the rapid decline of a Tackle. Now this is not to say he has declined but he is definately not right. I know it's the preseason and blah blah but he has been bad from what I've seen. Do you think he is hurt, not in football shape, don't give a damn about the preseason, or declining?

Any other thoughts from you guys about this?

Hard to follow these players off the field and into their personal lives, but something is clearing wrong with Roos. Aside from the Seahawks game he's played lousy. He may actually be the opposing defenses best player as he's continually blocking players into the running lane causing C.J. mainly to lose yards. Last year Michael Griffin had off the field problems that hampered his 2009 season, and it affected the team in a major way. I hope it's nothing significant.

Aside from him banging his knee he's played like crap. That knee injury in Carolina has nothing to do with his lousy preseason play.

I'm hoping it's just about not being up for the preseason and not anything pointing to a decline. Unless there is some kind of injury, there's no reason why his skills should drop.

The disturbing thing is he's getting beat with speed (people blowing past him), ppl cutting inside on him (a major no no!) and him getting run over with a bull rush. It'd be one thing if he was simply overplaying the outside and making a technique or anticpation mistake, but he's getting beat in every which way he can...and I'm not even addressing the run game atm.

No matter what, that's not a good sign. Best case, as TJ mentioned, is that he's simply not 'up' for the pres-season. However, him phoning it in has a tremendous affect on how our QB's play and they NEED the time to go through their progressions. The BIGGEST issue here is that we have no good backup who can even be solid. We'd have to start double teaming elite pass rushers and that would hurt our gameplanning and our ability to have multiple matchup problems for the D.

As I mentioned somewhere else, I've already seen him get beaten more often and more cleanly than all of last season!

Roos is my biggest concern atm followed closely by the entire OL as a whole in run blocking. It's not all them as I've started reviewing some running plays and several times CJ has left his blocking and thought he could blow through a hole and he's been caught by a LB for a short gain.
