fact remains that we have a proven track record against playoff teams..... vince wasnt apart of most of that track record fyi...
over the last decade 24-43 vs teams that went to the playoffs.

lets see... you blame the pitt game on vince or KFC? he didn't get to finish and the game was still in reach. you've seen comebacks a plenty with him. so strike that. you can't win when not given the opportunity.

    3-7

really....2008 vs indy... really... with backups and uninspired play... really

    3-6

tampa bay... again, not allowed to finish. the game was in reach.

    3-5

now... lets add his rookie year which you conveniently forgot to make your point. even after forced into the starting lineup with a crap team and a brutal schedule he played 7 "quality" teams as you call them.

dallas - first game starting ever - loss
indy - second game ever - very close loss.
baltimore - very close loss to a mcnair let team. VY had 250 and TD
    phily - 31 13 - win
    Giants - 21 point 4th Q comeback to win.
Colts - super bowl champs - win
    NE - loss

    3-4
    +
    3-5
    =
    6-9

whe he plays the whole game wins 40% of the time vs so-called "quality" opponents.

here's a nice post you need to read on the insignificance of "quality opponents in the reg. season.

basically says that non=playoff teams face about 2 more "quality" opponents superbowl/conference champ/divisional teams.

of that stat non-play off teams win about 25%
    wildcard teams win about 40%
    divisional teams win about 50%
conf champ teams win about 60%
    superbowl teams win about 63%

so what this all boils down to is vince is playing well enough 40% "quality" wins to make the playoffs on average.

if you add in teams with better or the same records as playoff teams but didn't actually get in... vince improves drastically. closer to 55% which is enough to get you to the big show.

    finally:

1.steve wasn't a good QB in 99 he had a 7 game stretch with 7ints and 2 TDs while getting blown out twice. if not for a 5 td game vs jacksonville (our bi$$$es that year) he has 7 TDs and 8 picks on the year.

    2. VY has to be ahead in the 4th for you to count it now? wtf?

    3. beating the cards shouldnt count because warner didnt start? WTF? when did warner start playing D?

    4. you dismiss the fact that we are a 33% team without him? why? thats a 7% difference and probably higher if fisher isn't forced to start a rookie against the superbowl champs of that year... as well as a cowboy playoff team in his very first game. talk about being thrown into the fire.

    5. the average for the league is 36.5% wins against quality opponents. vince has a 40% chance against quality opponents. without vince we are over 3% below average. with vince we are an above average wildcard team.

6.how do you "take away the defensive collapse of 09?" how about we just play all games with no defense

... is this guy for real?

Since the inception of the Tennessee Titans the team is 32-43 against playoff opponents. You would be hard pressed to find another coach and club with a better record since that time.

The funny thing is, I bet you're one of those Collins backers... and I can pull the same post out of my a** about Kerry.

His first year here was horrible. He went 0-6 last year. How many of those losses were to "quality opponents"?

And go look up the Colts, Patriots and Steelers. I can almost guarantee at least 2 of the 3 have a better record than us against "good" teams.
