What is funny is how so many posters put so much stock in wins and losses as the only judge of a QB. The Bears-Packers game is a classic example of how stupid it is to do that.

I like Cutler but Rodgers is possibly the best QB in the NFL right now. He out played Cutler and was virtually unstoppable. But the Bears defense did prevent the big play and made the Packers earn their points. The Bears won the game on a punt return for a TD (actually another put them in good field position) and created a key turnover that helped them get into position for the winning FG. Add in a huge pass interference penalty. So Rodgers loses the game but certanly it was no fault of his.

Now the Packers defense is pretty good. They totally took away the Bears running game and pressured Cutler all night. The Bears were without a legit LT. IMO Cutler played in a situaiton not much different than what Young faced against the Steelers. But look at the differences.

    1. Cutler doesn't play like a wuss. When he runs for a first down he doesn't fall down like a little girl. He will actually put his head down and run over a guy if he needs to. His rushing numbers for that game alone equalled VY's for the whole season.
    2. Cutler isn't scared of letting his WRS and TEs have a chance to make a play. Sure he was a little on the gunslinger side but against a real good defense you have to have some balls. One big pass reception or pass interference can really make a difference. Remember Cutler didn't have the luxury of the opponent being totally impotent on offense and the offense had to make some plays to win the game.
    3. Cutler practiced a little ball security when the rush got to him instead of waving the ball around.
    4. Some of his throws were fantastic and only throws a guy with his arm could make.

Yes, it's exactly like teachers who have been at it for 20+ years, still teaching from their first lesson plans, and then wondering why their students aren't responding and calling them dumb. I know of this because I taught for 28 years and can say that when working with people, especially young people, one MUST adapt to their ever changing worlds and their approach to learning. If you don't, you will lose them. This isn't 1950. Fisher is set in his plilosophy and nothing is going to change his mind. He will run CJ into the ground, while giving VY no chance to improve.

Why do we have to have a Jay Cutler thread everytime he wins a game?
