I'm not sure we do have the talent. I'm not sure this ownership cares about winning. I contend that as long as Bud makes a profit, he's just fine with mediocrity. Won't pay CJ, continually trying to plug a leaking damn with bubble gum. Didn't sign Julius Peppers... Imagine if we had Dez Bryant and Peppers, now we'd have some serious talent.

The other problem is the best talent we have seems to sit on the bench, why? Why is Jared Cook not on the field in an Antonio Gates role? I think all of us know that Verner is better than McCourtey, but all of us know that Fisher will not start Verner when JMC gets back from his broken arm, why?

Patriots proved you don't need #1 receivers to have an effective passing game, or to win a Super Bowl, or three.

This is so true!:ha: That IS the intention. And that's a good way to put it.

And it makes me SO MAD. Every Sunday that it happens. Every playoff game we lose because of it. Every (sigh) championship.

It makes me "HULK mad", it makes me so mad.

And for the record, to anyone who thinks we should be satisfied in simple victory, I say this unto you...in a very non Kellen Winslow, much more sincere tongue in cheek sort of way:

Is an army...literally...supposed to win in only one way, shape, or form, time and time again?
Is to hang all its hopes for victory on fortune alone, when fortune is the prize for which must be striven?
    Does it not employ strategy?
Does it not have to adapt to terrain one it reaches the field of battle?
    Once it's engaged?

Fisher doesn't take this metaphor deep enough. Now slow down, true disagreers. This one thing, we have done, historically, better than anyone in the league, I dare say. It's what keeps us competitive year in and year out, our hopes held high...and yet, just on the outside of eliteness, and sometimes, even contention. Smart preparation, on all levels. Our team has got to learn to employ these other weapons of strategy equally well. We need other modes of victory.

In the variety of killers, Fisher is a choker. Okay? That's all he can do. If he can, he'll choke your team to death, right? He will choke you out. He'll smother, and deprive of oxygen. He can't stab, or slice, or shiv repeatedly. He can't shoot, blast or rain down fire from above. Strategically speaking. With the Titans, it's all either choke, or be choked. That's what happens at it's best and it's worst.

There, my friends, is no pithy in our victories. Which means they are not forcefully concise, or tersely cogent, which in turns means compelling or convincing. When we win, most are left to wonder. Now this is fine most of the time, but not when it counts. And definitely not when it really matters. What I mean by this is you are left to wonder when both sides of the ball aren't significantly besting their opposites.

As we all say, the Titans need to learn to put the foot on the throat and hold it down throughout, i.e., until they know they're going to win, and if they STILL lose, you at least know your team gave its very best. That's all you can ask.

That, in my opinion, is what the people want. Well, screw it. It's what I want, at least.

Houston and Indy have better rosters than us by far. They are both better at the QB, TE, WR, DE and LB positions. They are both way more explosive. You people are seeing thru Titans blue glasses if you think a Stephen Tulluch is more than serviceable in this league. We have 1 true All Pro in CJ and the Texans have Schaub, A. Johnson, Mario and Cushing that will be perennial All Pro Players. Indy has Peyton, Wayne, Dallas Clark and Sanders as true superstars and if Gary Brackett was in Tennessee he'd be our best LB.

as much as I lovehim Fisher needs to get some 'Just 4 Men' die his hair dark brown, re-write the Titans playbook, inject some trick plays, HB shuvvles, Wildcat formations and Fake Punts and needs to get this team to fire on all cyclinders.

Be more creative and the players will follow suit
