Upcoming Position Battles

No way McRath doesn't play. Thornton would be rusty any way and probably just needs to wait until someone gets injured to see the field. I guess there is a possibility Thornton might be healthy enough to step into the Nickel as a more effective pass defender. Hard to take Tully out after his int and some nice coverage and tackling however but it would be nice to have better pass defense and Thornton might be an upgrade if healthy. I just have a hard time seeing him out there unless McRath or Spoon get hurt.

 

If McRath loses his starting job I will be beyond mad.

 

I too am hoping both Verner and McRath maintain their starting roles. Verner has Pro Bowler written all over him, and McRath is nearly as exciting to watch. Both guys had a hand in why we won on Sunday. McRath is running guys down that up til now, Tully was only able to watch from behind as they collect 1st downs. And Verner is swatting balls down when he's not there for the interceptions. Verner is hitting guys like a safety also! Great youth we have.

 

I really like how good McRath could be. Especially with a teammate like Witherspoon helping him out in practices. Keith was a good leader, but I never saw him as a mentor. Verner is just all over you in every way. If he can get his straight line speed up, he'll be a beast. McCourty is good, but Verner is on the verge of being really really good.

 

No way will Thornton start. He hasn't even played in months. I honestly don't think the Titans think he has much left....that this is more of a PR move on their parts holding onto him. That's just my opinion though.

If Verner keeps up this line of play he will keep his spot.

The other question should be between Gage and Williams for 3rd receiver. I started to say Gage and Britt for starter but I think that is a done deal already. Williams has leapfrogged Hawkins on the depth chart and could to the same to Gage if Gage doesn't get healthy soon.

 

I really like McRath as a starter, hes young and seems to be all over the field making tackles but i would like to see Thornton go into a role where maybe he is the 2nd LB at all 3 LB spots and come in sometimes on passing situations.

I also like Verner alot but I think Fisher will let McCourty get his starting job back and put Verner back at Nickel CB, I am good either way because i am pretty high on both guys and think both can do a good job.

 

I'll just be happy to have McCourty back so there's one more guy in front of Mouton.

 

Gotta go with McRath and Verner. Both have earned their playing time and keep getting better as they play more.

I am hopeful that Thornton does get healthy though and helps out when we need him.

Same for McCourty, I really like him. I just feel that McRath and Verner are right where they should be.
