I was saying last week that Verner may just be ready to be recognized as our best CB, now others are saying similar. I'd be somewhat upset to see Verner get benched.

    Verner > Finnegan > McCourty > Fuller > Hood > T-Rac > Mouton

I don't think there's anyway Fisher sits Verner. He's had 2 picks in the past 2 games.

It's great we have 3 solid CB's, but Verner and Finny are our best 2 corners

If Verner gets with the right speed coach, he'll be a top 3 corner at some point. He just lacks that next gear, but he makes up for it by knowing where to be.

He's an elite athlete that trains on speed I'm sure every offseason. He's not going to get much faster. Like you said, he makes up for it with smarts though.

Exactly. The rules change if the DB himself becomes a receiver. Finnegan was looking at the ball, not the receiver.

I just don't see them not letting Verner stay the started, I thought he should have had it to begin with but I think the only reason they picked McCourty over Verner is because Verner is a rookie and they probably didn't have full faith in him yet but now that he's proven he's not going to choke there's no doubt he's a stud. It's nice to have this problem though because both are very capable. Lot's of good young talent, what a difference a year can make!

Perhaps jumping the gun with the whole Verner>Finnegan thing, but I agree in principal. He is definitely showing up, making plays when he's given the opportunity. I'd be way more then somewhat upset if ATV gets the pine when McCourty heals up. That kid deserves to be our CB2 until he has a game or two that loses the job for him.

Can't find a video of ATV'S pick from last night but, everyone keeps talking about his speed or lack there of. if you watch the tape from last night he could have had three INT'S. While i am not sure how track fast he is , on a football field he is extremely quick, and appears fast. On the pick the wideout whom knows what the route is and runs a comeback Verner is 2-3 yards behind him. The wideout breaks back an instant after ATV breaks back makes up the three yards and gets to the ball first. Dont care how fast his track time is that is a VERY fast reaction time. ATV is a straight up BALLER!

We'll be able to judge his deep speed against the Eagles. I'd imagine he'll get his chances against Maclin.
