Here's the thing.. I agree he served his time and I have no problem with him working his way back into the NFL. But I see his "good behavior and good will" as a externally scripted plan to get him back rolling in the dollars and making money for the NFL machine.

A man does not do the things he did and suddenly change who he is once they take away his toys. A child molester is always a child molester on the inside and a dog torturer/murderer is always a dog torturer/murderer on the inside and I can't cheer for that person on my team...

He got his shot at redemption by doing the bare minimum.

He only came back because he was broke. He only got a chance because there's a shortage of talent at his position.

If he was really remorseful he'd be going out of his way to show it.

    I can forgive but I won't forget.

FWIW I think that the Eagles are a good fit for him and he'll get a deal clost to $10mill a season.

Eagles will pay Vick 100 million if he stays healthy the rest of the season.

Mike Vick doesn't have a mental illness, hes just dumb. He didn't molest a child, he made a mistake and did his time for it, and I'll bet anyone here he never gets in trouble for dog fighting again.

Don't compare Dog fighting to Child Molestation, completely different. Besides, what do you want Vick to do? Give every cent he earns to FEMA? Would you rather him not have good behavior or good will? Sounds like you just don't like the dude. He's apologized, Give him a chance.

I know this is veering off-topic but going back to the Manning thing....

Call me crazy but the chances of Peyton leaving Indy could be a bit higher than some of you think (i.e. zero). At his age I bet he's worried about one thing above all else.... championships. If he doesn't think the Colts give him the best chance at that then I could definitely see him going elsewhere. Next year Dallas Clark will be 32. Wayne 33. Saturday 36. Much of their best talent is at or near the end of their careers. And Peyton probably has at least another good 4 or 5 years in him. He would get huge money regardless of where he goes. He would likely get the same freedoms with playcalling regardless of where he goes.

This is obviously pure speculation on my part. And I'd still say there's about a 95% chance he finishes his career as a Colt. But I'm just saying it wouldn't completely blow my mind if he decided to go elsewhere either.

You missed the point of the post.

The analogy of child molesting was to make the point that certain behavioural tendencies can't be turned off.

There are lines that most humans won't cross and animal torture is one of them. Those people can't uncross that line once they've done it and the next time they cross it gets easier.

He wasn't literally comparing hurting animals to molesting children.

Both very sick crimes in my book though.

I understand your opinion, I just don't agree. I think the reason I don't agree is that I have a bad habit of always looking for the good in a person. I want to believe that he is remorseful and is a different person. Until he proves me wrong, that is what I will believe.
