Prediction for Rusty

WE cant expect much, unfortunately I dont think its going to go even ok, in all honesty it might get ugly

 

I think he will do decent. I want him to do good. I've seen several of his college games and I think he can be good. The main thing was that he got in a regular season game so now he knows what the game speed is like. Unlike practice and preseason games when people are not going as hard. This will be the game to see how good he can be. The Texans pass defense is bad. So if he does bad in this game then I think we will have our answer.

 

The best news is we play the Texans... the Texans have the WORST pass D in the league... Hopefully Rusty can produce against them.

My guess:
18 for 26 - 260 yards - 2 TDs

Rusty "The Rusty Rifle" Smith will need a lot of play action fakes and screen calls if he going to win this one, bright side I can almost guarantee we will have a single Randy Moss in this game.

 

24 -27 379 yards, 4 TDs.

 

I agree... We can all pick sides and say who is at fault for all of this, but one thing we all have to do right now is hope Rusty turns out to play like Colt McCoy so far. Not great, but enough to get by and make few mistakes....

Even though the Texans have the worst pass D in the (history) of the league, he's a 6th round rookie QB making his first NFL start, and we tend to keep things far closer than they need to be.

I do think he throws to Randy though - a lot. I remember when Volek came in and immediately had chemistry with Drew Bennett and the two lit up the league, so here's hoping to something similar.

and stranger things have happened in football. I don't understand why people get so attached to stats. Oh, he was ONLY a 6th round pick! That means he sucks! What kind of thinking is that? Too many times talented kids from small schools get overlooked. And let's face it, Vince is proof that success in college doesn't necessarily translate to the NFL. Let's give the kid a chance to prove he can make it in the Big Time. If he fails, so be it; but don't have him failing before he ever steps on the field.
