Pretty much gives me hope. He made some poor reads and his timing was sometimes off but he also made a couple of nice passes. I wonder if Moss had a chance had he not pushed off. I think it would have given Rusty a ton of confidence. Working with the first team this week will hopefully help. We'll see tomorrow.

Nice ending to this vid. ;)

    1. Randy quit on the route - as usual.

    2. Good pass- TD until Moss pushed off for offensive int.

    3. Great pass over the middle for big gain.

    4. Easy screen pass.

    5. Overthrown. I think he got a bit too confident and it looks as if Nate may have slowed up.

    6. Easy pass.

    7. That Fisher quote is stupid coming from the guy that never even wants to play "Cookie" (now he even has a pet name for him?). Bad pass though.

    8. Another bad pass.

    9. Looks like a good pass- but Scaife sucks.

Not bad at all for a rookie making his NFL debut unprepared.

Unfortunately, Moss didn't have to push off as the throw was on the outside shoulder and he was the only one in position to catch it. The push off is also very slight, and in many situations, that would not have been called. Had he scored, we would've seen a whole lot of CJ/Ringer after that.

Rusty was just trying to make something happen, he doesnt seem like the type thats fine with punting. He has a drive to move the chains.

The game is moving very fast for Rusty right now. it will take some time to get to slow down get comfortable and focus on playing the game. He is worried what the coaches are thinking of him and everyone else. Tons of pressure on Rusty.

    1. Randy needs to keep running, at first it looked like a terrible read by Smith, throwing into traffic with no window. But looking at it, the play was there, randy just stopped running. If he keeps running 1 of 2 things happens, Pass interference on Hall for mauling Moss, or Moss catches that for 10-15 yards.

    2. Nice Pass, Bad Read. Double coverage, if thats over the other shoulder its arguably a pick. It seemed like Rusty was picking a receiver before he snapped the ball, which isn't going to cut it in the NFL.

    3. Don't know where this came from, Rusty looked like a seasoned veteran with that throw. Great pass, nice catch by Nate who is apparently mr. reliable this season. Figures after 2 nice throws from Rusty back to back, Fisher calls 2 run plays on 1st and 2nd down that go for a combined 1 yard, leaving a rookie QB from FAU with 3rd and 9.

    4. Screen pass

    5. Terrible Read, even if that pass is on the money, thats probably a pick. The safety was there, the CB was all over Nate. Like I said before, If Rusty is going to be picking his receiver before the snap and not reading the defense in play, hes not going to make it in this league.

    6. Nice out route, but again, his eyes never left Cook.

    7. Proves my point on how hes not reading the defense, simply picking the receiver he GUESSES will be open, and throwing it regardless of how many defenders are in the area. Game changing mistake on Rusty's part.

    8. Terrible throw, overthrown, probably nerves. But once again, eyes never moved off nate.

    9. Poorly overthrown pass on a crucial play. Timing probably an issue as I don't think Rusty has taken too many 1st team snaps all year.

After watching this, I'm pretty convinced we lost the game because of Rusty. Hard to blame him, hes a rookie. But he played pretty awful, no denying thath. He looked like a scared puppy out there at some points.

Hopefully tomorrow he comes in ready to play, and reads the defense before making throws.

Had this been Vince, the WRs would take all the blame.

he was 3/9 with a pick and didn't once look away from his first read. Vince hasn't done that in 2 years.

What do you think he played well?

I didn't think he was that bad at all, especially considering it was his first real game action ever, and he hadn't prepared for it. I expect him to look at least decent this week.
