I think Vick was pretty much always at this kind of level. But it was inconsistent. And I think it will return to inconsistent. He's really only a few games into the season. The big thing with Vick was could he do it in the playoffs when the pressure is turned up and the teams are better. That is what we have to see for me to say that he has elevated his game to MVP. I think he's shown these flashes before. It's what can he deliver at next level of competition. But I give him credit for losing his game and then getting it back.

Trust me Marty is a good cordinator but he was horrible on sundays with the Lions. The talent was not great but as hard as it is to believe the coaching was worse..

I just think we need an offensive minded coach and the West Coast formula sounds perfect if we can keep the talent we have now. We need a dominant center who can bring our offensive line back to being consistent.

Heres another name to throw out there. Mike Mularkey, OC for the falcons. Used to be OC for the steelers to.

Where on earth did you get the idea that Vince Young can run the west coast offense? It requires the QB to make very quick reads (something Young has not shown the mental ability to do) and throw extremely accurate passes (something Young can't do).

In many ways, Young is the worst QB for this type of offense (at least in its purest form). He is never going to be the kind of guy who can find weaknesses in a defense and use them to pick it apart on long drives made up of short passes.

Yes, running QBs are often successful in this kind of offense. That alone isn't enough reason to overhaul the entire system, though.

The reason Vick has succeeded this year is that he has finally matured enough that he is in the film room every day, learning how to go through his progressions. Considering we all heard Fisher (only two weeks ago) criticizing Young for still not knowing how to go through his progressions properly, you'll have to forgive me for being very skeptical as to whether Young can succeed in a WC system.

That in itself is enough for me to ask "Who are we drafting this spring Fish?"

I'm done with USC affiliated coaches. Lane Kiffin ruined it.
