His remarkable vision and cutting ability makes what he does look easy, but it isn't. He's the all-time best and that says a lot. If you aren't impressed, all that tells me is that you don't appreciate the small things that Hester does. You'll surely get defensive at that statement, but whatever.

I, for one, am very impressed.

The Bears have always had good ST. Remember RW McQuarters? But, Hester runs in the 4.2s, you can't just plug in anyone back there and expect his production. He makes it look easy because he runs so fast, like CJ. Maybe Knox gets 6-8 return TDs in that span. But 14? Doubt it.

Just to double check, I went over to youtube.

On at least half of his returns, he reversed field or did some crazy juke to "break someone's ankles". The only returns that looked "easy" were the FG return against the Giants and last night's return.

Who gives a flying *uck how you get in the endzone?.. just get there. I did the youtube searches for Hester's returns as well and that's pretty much what I saw too, very impressive however you look at it but you're not gonna tell Deuce anything he doesn't want to hear. With him, he likes throwing *hit against the wall just to see what sticks.

Throw Deuce's *ss out there on the field with 27 Chicago ST players blocking for him and if he can even crack one yard that would be impressive... but he's gonna hate anyway.

You don't have returns like THIS in the NFL because of the speed of the game.

You either see and get to the hole or you don't.

Real talk though. If CJ returned Kicks and punts, he would rival that record..

I come down somewhere in the middle here. I can see where Deuce is coming from with guys getting overhyped because of their supporting cast/system. That annoys me too. But I also agree with ColtKiller in that supporting cast/system is just part of it. And most great players wouldn't have accomplished what they did if it weren't for their particular circumstances.

I think Hester is a great return man. But does holding the return TD record necessarily make him the best ever? No, not at all. I think you have to say he's in the discussion though. Because the bottom line is it's nearly impossible to separate a returner from his team's ST blocking. If you are going to go down that road then it's all just pure speculation.

I like him. He is a very humble guy also. It seems like all the best return guys were around when I was in Elementary school such as Mel Gray, Eric Metcalf, Deion Sanders and Glyn Milburn.. So it's kinda hard for me to compare Devin with those guys, but I would have to say he is the most dangerous return guy in my era.

Just to think that Fisher had him on the phone in the 06 draft and told him to get ready to fly to Nashville, only to tell him that they are going to take Lendale White instead.
