Locker's draft stock has fallen very, very far. He was supposed to go top 5 last year, but decided to stay for his senior year... cost him millions.

I watched Locker play against Nebraska in their bowl game. He had a terrible 1st half... and by that I mean he didn't complete a pass. He was 0/7. One way or another, this Washington team was 0-12 before he started. Now, they end up 7-6. Without him they're probably a 2-10 team year in and year out.

Hard to know what to expect from him. We could draft Peterson, Amukamara, or whoever (if available) with our #8 pick... then try to trade up with our other picks to get Locker later in 1st. Just speculating.

Mallett's inability to close out games this season has really made me think twice about drafting him in the 1st. Throwing across your body over the middle with the game on the line is really mind boggling to me (I guess not quite as mind boggling as falling on a blocked punt in opponent territory down by 5.) But I'm really just not sold on anybody else except Luck. Who is good that is coming out next year incase things don't work out with Vince that would be NFL ready? I guess there's Barkley and maybe Luck and Newton won't go pro. I also like Kellen Moore but he has the weakest arm of those mentioned but he is a leader and someone that can learn an offense and read a defense. Andy Dalton could be a good pick in a later round, he has a great arm and runs an efficient offense but I'm a little skeptical of Mountain West QBs.

We should talk to Luck right now and convince him to refuse to sign with the Panthers. Sort of like Eli with the Chargers... even though that was just Eli hating the history of the team and the way they're run.

As has been said, this one is far better because of Luck. It's also much deeper because you can add Gabbert and Newton to the list. Personally,Ive been a Ryan Mallett fan, but I have also said all along I wanted to see how he looked in a big game. He had some positives, but the negatives from last night jump out at me....slow feet, seems to panic and short arm when defenders are around his legs. Can that be fixed? Possibly. I will say that I am very interested in seeing how Jake Locker looks in the Senior Bowl. He may be the most talented QB in this draft outside of Luck, just had zero talent around him at Wash.

Luck has been called the best quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning by many people who know what they are talking about. He projects to be an elite quarterback.

Physically, like Eli Manning, but more mobile. He's smart, but Peyton's work ethic won't ever be matched, IMO. That's what sets Peyton apart from everyone else. Matt Ryan is a good comparison, as far as QB intelligence goes.

he compares to him in hype and potential. He plays nothing like Peyton and has nothing to do with his NFL comparison.

There is no way I can honestly say I've paid a tremendous amount of attention to Luck, Mallett, or Locker. I've seen their work, and saw some promising things, but IMO we don't need a QB, so I've focused my attention to other areas I think will help us next year. Vince Young was my pick from 2003 when I saw needing a QB was coming. Cutler went to Vanderbilt, and was competitive there. That's not easy. But at the end of the day he still went to Vanderbilt.

Cool, bro. I don't think anyone said he was the physical equivalent of Peyton. I was answering the question about his potential.
