Bud needs to grow some GoNads and take control of this team. Fisher needs to go. He knows, I know it, We all know it.

    Perfect !

With all the VY drama..I think many have forgot that Jeff Fisher was here what 12 years BEFORE VY ever step foot in Tennessee..and he didn't do anything then. Although I was one who wanted the opportunity to see VY under a different HC (in Tennessee)..im not hurt that he's gone. Im more p*ssed to know that somehow Jeff Fisher is STILL here despite his 17 years of mediocrity

If the players feel anything like the fanbase, Fish has lost them for good. I'm inclined to think that's the case with a few of them. But would any other coach want to come to Tennessee now, complete with defensive woes and new QB grooming?

Just look at the last Colts game. Almost 100% running on 1st down. It's just way too conservative.
Fisher needs to loosen up, trust his coordinators more and leave more of the game planning to them.
If Fisher stays, he needs to change. If not, someone needs to step up and kidnap him.

    aka PREDICTABLE

When we as fans can sit there watching the game and predict what the next play is going to be a very high percentage of the time, the opposing teams that gameplan for a week know what's coming before the game even starts
    You can't win like that

I am not happy about Fisher staying either, but I really believe at this point the decision has nothing to do with VY or Fisher's past performance...it has to do with the upcoming CBA mess.

If there is a lockout, in the worst case, coaches may not get to have contact with players until 10 days before the first game. A new coach (with a band of new coordinators and new game plan) will be totally lost in this situation.

IMO the decision on Fisher is a one year decision at most, and was made to allow him to be the store manager of a potentially empty store during a possible CBA mess. So, that being said, the upcoming threads should start discussing what coaching candidates will be available one year from now IMO.

There are a few good reasons to keep Fisher in 2011. It removes a lot of the issues if the CBA isn't settled until August.

But think about this. If Bud allows Fisher to stay another season but forces him to add a new OC/DC, it likely won't change anything. The Titans have played the same style of football of offense since Les Steckel was the OC. It changed a bit under Dinger but only after Fisher took off the handcuffs. Chow added his own spin but nothing drastic. Dinger 2.0 is following the same mantra. Defensively, there's not much difference between the schemes of Schwartz and Cecil. Each of these OC/DCs have added a little twist but what we see on Sunday is basically what Fisher wants. So, if we feel the approach is conservative and predictable, we'll see more of the same regardless who the OC/DC is.

Also, if Fisher isn't guaranteed more than one more season, do we want him influencing the choice of the next, hopefully, franchise QB? He's going to get the guy who suits his offensive approach. That can limit who the next HC is because he'll have to design his offense around the talent on the roster. I'd rather a new coach install his own schemes and then draft the best QB to execute it.

And, if Fisher is given only one more season, that means all his coaches get one-year contracts. I think it could mean the better position coaches may leave for longer deals. I can't see Fisher bringing in top talent at OC, DC or positional coaches if he is a lame duck.

Don't know if these have already been posted, but got them from PK's ESPN AFC South Blog, where he actually argues it may be time to move on:

    Full regular season wrap-up here.

    Full story here.

    ...

Fisher’s winning percentage now is .542 (142-120). Among NFL coaches who have at least 140 regular-season wins, only Dan Reeves has a lower win percentage. Reeves was 190-165-2 in the regular season, for a .535 mark.

Among head coaches with at least 140 regular-season wins, no one has had fewer winning seasons than Fisher’s six. The next closest would be nine winning seasons (Mike Shanahan and Marv Levy).

If you knock that down to a 120-win threshold, Fisher still has the fewest winning seasons. Jim Mora (125), Dick Vermeil (120), Mike Ditka (121) and Weeb Ewbank (130) all had seven winning seasons.

Among coaches with 140 regular season wins, Fisher’s 5-6 playoff record makes for the third-worst playoff winning percentage (.455). Marty Schottenheimer is at .278 (5-13) , Chuck Knox at .389 (7-11) and Bud Grant is also at .455 (10-12).
