very true, but when the goal is winning it makes me wonder what commitment the organization has to winning when he have no idea who is our QB & leader in 7 months & it looks like we are keeping a coach that has kept us from winning for decades.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think this franchise is currently failing on many levels (see my rant thread lol). I was just saying that anyone who argued that Vince can't consistently beat good teams is a to begin with. This math (and examples of other QBs) definitely clears things up a little bit for those that weren't using their brains before.

Indeed, this argument is mathmatical and devoid of any behind the scenes reasoning.

The point is, you cannot question his on-field production.

Yeah, that list ignores three of the heavy hitters in Peyton, Brady and Big Ben...

The list also includes 3 pro-bowlers, one of which happened to win the superbowl last year. If Vince's statistics are comparable to those guys, I'd say he's done a pretty good job in the win department.

Nobody is saying he's THE best QB in the league. Manning and Brady are better, yes. They are both going to be first ballot Hall of Famers. Our (mine anyway) argument is that Vince is a solid starting QB. People who use this argument generally say all he does is beat up on the bad teams in the league. Lets see them try to carry on that same argument for Drew Brees.

I decided to go back and see how fisher did.

Starting in 2008 (when Vince did not play) and going back 5 years to 2004.

Fisher's record vs teams with a better than .500 record was ...... drum role...

11 and 22 ! That is 11 wins out of 33 games vs teams with a wining record.

33% winner winner chicken dinner. Over all record of 40-42.

The difference is you can see Drew Brees' skills, there is no denying them. A guy who has thrown 24+ touchdowns seven straight years, is the cornerstone of a franchise and is the undisputed leader of his team doesn't get the "he just wins games" argument because he has more to his game than that.

"He just wins games" is what people say when a guy isn't that good. If THAT is going to be your best attribute, you better beat the good teams too.

well, Eli Manning won a superbowll too, and Matt Ryan is on my list of people who will soon follow suit. But it isnt fair to compare VY to hall of famers.
