2012 season, do you want Fisher to be gone or just to do better?

Man this is depressing, because essentially either option leaves us fans with little hope for the immediate future. I definitely wanted Fisher gone after this season, but to hope that he is gone after 2011 is to basically wish for the worst failure upon the team for a whole year. That's hard to swallow, especially with CJ's window getting smaller and his shelf life likely coming to an end in a few years (I hope not, but let's be realistic). There's also the fact that post-Fisher, we have no idea who will be coaching this team and how long it will take for them to have success. It could mean several years of losing and rebuilding.

The alternative, if Fisher were to turn things around, is also depressing when looking at the long run, because that means in all likelihood he'd get an extension and it would be years upon years of the same old mediocrity and antiquated coaching, barring some kind of miracle. I really don't know which is worse.

The bottom line is that I think we kinda got screwed by the possible lockout/labor renegotiation. Fisher should have been fired after his team melting down in two straight seasons. But once again he got lucky and again us fans are left scratching our heads and talking in circles about the same old things.

In the end there are no guarantees that the team will see success with anyone as head coach. In light of that, I'll vote that I hope that Fisher miraculously turns the team into a perennially Superbowl-winning dynasty, because I don't have the patience or wherewithal to root against my team for a year and hope for some glimmer of future success that may not even happen.

 

As of right now I would freak if Fisher is named the Titans head coach for the 2012 season. If we have a good off-season (so far not so much) and field a successful team (at least one playoff win) in 2011 I would be okay with Fisher getting an extension. I seriously doubt that will happen though so I am hoping for a Fish fry in 2011.

 

Gone the sooner the better.........I don't care if this goes 15-1 and comes within a pinky finger of winning the Super Bowl, in fact that would earn him a lifetime contract which would be the ultimate nightmare scenario.

I hate for it to take a s:grrr::grrr::grrr: season to finally get rid of him, but anything mediocre and Adams will keep him around a few more years.

At this point there are two things that'll save Fisher's butt a SB title or Bud Adams passing away because it seems like everybody in the FO has unconditional support for Fish Face.

 

I voted "gone". I want us to improve (always want this), but I, too, think that he has run his course here. I just don't think he is the evil resident VY foil that others think he is.

 

I'm convinced we wont get better with Fisher so I'll say gone. We winning the Superbowl with Fisher? Nope. So what if we win 3 more games?

 

I vote gone. This team needs a new direction.

 

I don't have the time or patience to see if this tiger can change it's stripes. I want somebody hungry. Let fisher go play laser tag somewhere else.

 

The dude needs to go. I see no possible scenario playing out next season which would change my mind...

Unless we miraculously won the Super Bowl. That is THE ONLY thing that could make me change my mind about him at this point.

 

I could really care less what Fisher does. I want the Titans to improve, regardless of who the head coach is.

 

The sooner we get rid of Fisher, the sooner we can rebuild, and the sooner we can be a truly successful team.
