I really don't see money as a "motivator" after you get your payday. I may be alone here but just because someone pays me a lot doesn't necessarily make me want to work hard for them. I'm not gonna quit on them and do nothing, but I won't overexert myself either. I'd need a project I'm passionate for and a team I like working with to work hard. When it comes to motivation by money its the promise of getting promoted and getting a pay raise that motivates me. Haynesworth worked his butt off in 2008 and got his promotion/raise.

From there, as a coach, its your job to motivate that player and get him to perform for you. Its obvious he has the ability to perform, he's shown it and that's why you gave him the big bucks.

That's actually one of the only reasons I respect Jeff Fisher. His schemes suck, his game planning is bad and mid-game adjustments are worse. But he's done a great job in handling his players and I believe that's the only reason his tenure has been so long in TN.

I'm not saying Haynesworth is not at fault at all here, he did abuse his situation but its the Redskins organization that failed to motivate him. As a football player, you have to play for your coach and your teammates. If you don't respect or like them, it makes it really damn hard to work your butt off day in and day out.

Who would you say put themselves above the team in recent history? CJ is the only one I can think of.

Also, I'd only want to trade for Haynesworth if we actually make a move and get a decent free agent QB. (it. Palmer, Orton, McNabb or Kolb) If we don't there's really no point and I'd rather keep the 4th rounder to build for the future.

I voted no....although I agree that Albert, if properly motivated, can be dominant.

I just don't see him as ever being properly motivated again. He got his big payday, and disappeared (as I predicted).

Tie a hotdog to a string and attach it from a stick dangling in front of his helmet. He'll be in the Pro Bowl..

I saw him at the Wild Noodle in cool springs in 08 so maybe some spicy Thai noodles would do the trick. That's what he was eating there.

How you tie those to a stick?

Haynesworth won't be motivated because of his legacy as it's beyond repair after what he's done in Washington. He won't be motivated by money because he has all he can possibly spend in a lifetime.

So tell me what motivates the guy?

Probably nothing. But even an unmotivated AH can roll out of bed half asleep and still get more push than Brown, Jones and Marks. I know those who don't want him back won't want him back regardless of what anybody says. I am on the other side, I want him back and don't care what we have to do to get him back. I'm not saying give up a 1st 2nd or even a 3rd, but we'd be stupid if we could get him for a 4th and don't.

I really don't want him because it seems like he only plays well if he is playing for a contract. If there were a way to get him for cheap, and someway to get him to play hard all the time, but i don't think there is a way to get him to play, he is just in it for the money, so I think we are better off without him.

    1) The people around him. His teammates and his coach.
    2) Showing up Shanahan/Washington (spite).

    No.
    He'll give us nothing.

Besides, with Washburn gone, who is going to march up to him and stare him in the eyes while cussing his momma to get him worked up.
