    There are two scenarios.

    A) A head coach who wants to start fresh with a new qb thus giving him 5 years freedom, and his own team. This is the preferred scenario for most coaches.

    B) A head coach who wants to win now, and would take Vince Young rather than a kid or a cagy veteran. I could see this being a veteran coach who wants to step in and win a championship now. So they'd have to want VY.

On the flip side of that coin you have VY.

Would VY be willing to come back. I think it's possible. big money and CJ and Britt and many others love him. So I could see why he would agree to it. But it's difficult to go back and work for a company you either left or were fired from. It ain't easy. but it's been done.

No excuses for it huh? So if the coach called your mother a whore in front of the team, you would just take it? If he repeatedly insulted you in front of the team, you would just take it? I'm not claiming Fisher did either of those things, but the idea that there is no excuse for confronting your coach in public is ridiculous.

I agree, a QB is suppose to be a leader. A person that is a leader by nature isn't the type of person that is going to get pushed around and ignore it. I don't want a pushover at QB.

Have to agree. Being a leader is more than just studying a playbook or watching film, being a leader is about standing up for what you believe in. I don't know if Young is to blame or if Fisher is to blame for the altercation but I would like to know what took place. I'd imagine it would take quite a bit for a man to cuss out his superior.

You are right to a point..leaders do stand up for what they believe in, but in order to do that, they have to lead by example, by watching film, learning the playbook, etc. VY wanted to be a leader, and be treated like one, but didn't want to put the work in to get there. I'm sure Fisher was to blame some too, there are always two sides, but the truth is, in the end, both were wrong. I am glad the organization decided to wash their hands of it and start fresh.

I would do back flips if we could get a 5th for VY...unfortunately with his contract I'd bet we are forced to cut him.

The front office and majority of the coaching staff don't want VY back not because he's not talented, but because, as I said multiple times, they've burnt bridges and know it's best for both sides to move on. Now it's no secret Fisher had a blind love for Collins, so I can't blame VY for blowing up, but it was the wrong time and place to do so. If VY would have blown up in Fisher's face during office hours, I would have stood and applauded, but doing it on the field and for the world to see was a big no-no and he made his bed. The message is simple: VY is not bigger than the team especially when he's only played good ball for barely over a full season, it's not like he's won 3 rings for us. The Titans want a fresh start and cutting ties with VY would be doing exactly that. Not only would bringing him back look bad for the franchise (retractation again?), but they also don't believe he's worth the trouble. Plus, does he even wanna come back?

Now with the being said, I am a big VY fan (and believe he can help us win sooner than later) and of course I'd love to see one of my favorite players on my favorite team, but I don't see it happening for the reasons above. When I say I'm a VY fan, I'm exactly that...a fan, I just watch him play, I don't have to worry about paying him or my company's reputation based on his actions.

Now I do like to look at the picture from all angles, so assuming VY would even want to come back and the Titans aren't completely opposed to the idea, there is one scenario: The new coach would first even want VY back and be willing to make a case for him to the front office. On top of that, VY would have to come to the team first and plead a case for himself, offer a written public apology to the whole team before anyone even hints to him they might want him back. The front office and staff would then let him know he's on a very tight leash and this is his last chance. And as punishment, he'll be told he'll start off as the back-up for the first 4 games next season, and he might get his starting job back after that, if he earns it (doesn't moan, work ethic in practice, body language on the sidelines, etc).
