Absotively! It's like I told my buddy on SWDC when the Vols were looking for a new coach: "You have to make the call, even if there's a 0% chance of success. You're obligated to try to get the best coach possible, and if you're not on the phone with the best candidates, no matter the odds of convincing them to come here, then you're not doing your job!"

I'm not sure what he's making at Florida, but it has to be good money. Think Bud would pony up the dough to get a guy like Weis?

How can you get mad at Lane Kiffin for leaving a terrible situation at UTjr then in the same breath, ask Charlie Weis to do the same exact same thing and leave a program high and dry.

    There's no way.

The situation with Gray was much different. He was going to be the DB coach at Texas, making $400,000 a year. He came here to be the defensive coordinator (a much higher coaching position) and will be making $1 mil a year.

Weis would be leaving Florida for the same coaching position here... and it wouldn't surprise me if the job in Florida carries a higher salary. If not, the difference wouldn't be enough to change his mind.

Weis went to Florida to be closer to his son, I doubt he would leave.

I don't think this will happen, but if for some reason it did it would be awesome. He was a terrible head coach, but he is a great OC.

Seems to me the Pats offense has been better since Weis left than when he was there. Even without Moss Brady had an MVP year.

Could it be that Weis is an average at best OC who just lucked onto the right team and the right QB? That's what i think.

Outside of Jimmy's freshman year, the offense was never the problem during his tenure as head coach.
