Where is VY? (all things Vince Young goes here)

I agree, expect most of the growing pains sooner rather than later. Munch threw out everyone and brought in his own people, so he'll have some time to develop.

 

Bud's stated he wants a ring. He's old. A rookie QB could take 1-3 years to develop (not to start, but to make us good enough to win the division).

We've got a talented team. On defense we're 1-2 players off. On offense a lineman off (hopefully). If we don't perform well it will be do to the coaching. Any new coach knows its in their best interest to produce right away.

He won't get the axe if we don't win the division, but if we go under .500 his job will be at stake I feel. It's all speculation though whether its my opinion or yours.

I'm not sure how the whole labor agreement works but will the players get to work with the coaches even if their is a lockout?

 

I agree with this part. If we were to keep Vy for next year and dedicated the draft to retooling the defence. DL,LB,SS whilst picking up some free agents. This would be a VERY competitive team next year.

Its that or complete rebuild.

I dont think VY will be back, but I wouldn't mind it if he did, and we drafted a qb and had open competition for qb spot.

 

As I said, this year will be a honeymoon. That includes the coaching staff. Munch is a product of the Titan/Oiler system, however he does have his own thoughts and philosophies. He'll get a free pass in 2011, not in 2012.

Dude.....Sometimes ya gotta take off the blue colored glasses and look at reality. The team is talented, but not THAT talented. Granted, there are some great players, but saying that the Titans as a team are only a few slots off to me is incorrect.

The D needs to clean house. DB's are average, linebackers are below average and D-line is a question mark. We are not top tier anymore.

On O, Munch should be able to clean that up since he's been involved with it for 20 plus years. CJ, the TE's and the line are solid. WR is iffy. Britt has greatness potential if he tries, but other than that they're average. A QB that can see the field may elevate the whole O.

 

Did you watch the 1st half of the season? The reason the 2nd half was so bad was because the team quit. We beat playoff teams and shouldn't have lost the games that we did (minus the Steelers game).

Britt, Washington, and DWill are a solid group of WR's. The problem was they played Gage instead of Williams.

Dline can play. A little depth would help, but they can play (we're leading in sacks at one point right?). The linebackers are slightly above average. Our DB's are good if you take Hope out of the equation. He simply can't cover and his tackling tailed off.

We're not a bad team. What have the coaches said that have came to the team? We've got a talented group of relatively young guys.

 

Some new kind of math?

 

We beat only one playoff team and that was the Eagles with Vick out and with KC and Britt having a crazy 4th quarter comeback. We lost to all the other playoff teams that we faced(Steelers, Indyx2 and KC). Really this team isn't that good and would need several upgrades in several positions. Good thing we're playing a last place schedule next season.

 

Until VY is officially "dealt with", I believe he has a chance of coming back. Here's why:

1. The Titans are competitive with VY at QB; may even make the playoffs
2. The Titans can then draft a QB in the middle rounds to be developed over 2 years
3. Chris Palmer does not want a repeat of the David Carr fiasco in Houston
4. Munch will accept VY in the short-term if VY commits to be a Pro and stop whinning
5. The Titans playmakers (CJ, Kenny, & Griffin) would welcome VY back
6. Bud saves $ on a new franchise QB, which is at best a gamble of a draft pick
7. The fan base will come around if the Titans play competitively
