They were not 7th in the nfl, what source did you get that from? And by going over the personnel all you did was show that there was talent on that team. A stable vet at QB and a "loaded backfield" with 2 good WRS is an excuse to suck now? Really? Your post is right out of wiki.

All the stats i put up were accurate. They never had a good passing game in those 2 years.

Post accurate stats. The Bills as a team, as a team were 7th in scoring. Unless you want to give Clements credit for the 3 special teams Tds and the 4 defensive Tds. The offense, the offense was 16th in scoring in 2004 which is hardly effective when their defense was top 10 and among the leaders in takeaways.

The 2 offenses Clements had finished 25th and 28th in yardage. Neither offense had a dyamic passing game. That is fact.

I am waaaay too tired to respond to this, but I want to so I don't forget, so sorry it's half assed. I also wanted to say in my original post that I wasn't trying to prove you wrong, so I dunno why your post was frustrating.

They were #7 in points scored. Last time I checked, games were decided by who scored the most points, and not who gained the most yards or had the higher averages. So when I rank offenses, I believe it's best to use scoring.

By going over the personnel, I tried to point out the difference in the success of the two different offenses in contrast to the difference in personnel. With Drew Bledsoe, he scores points. With Kelly Holcomb/J.P. Losman, his offense was far less productive. A stable vet QB, a "loaded backfield," and 2 good WR's wouldn't be an excuse to suck, but that's completely irrelevant considering the productivity of the offense. I hope I explained that better, but I figured people would realize and understand that in my original post.

You did put up accurate stats. I haven't posted anything incorrect either - at least, not that I'm aware of. I could have made a typo or misread something. It was a very long post, after all. But yeah, don't get on to me about stats when you're hand picking statistics for your argument just as well.

About your two references to the passing game and it being "good" or "dynamic," I never once stated otherwise.

Eh, I guess you can't attribute the 7 non-offensive TD's to Clements. Although, if you want to get technical, the Punter is considered a defensive player. So if the defense is out there punting, then it's the offense returning. Kickers are considered offensive players as well. That's a little silly though, so I'll leave the 3 alone. But all the other teams were under the same rules as far as point scoring goes, so there wasn't an unfair advantage.

I'm not sure if you went through the other 31 teams and subtracted their non-offensive TD's, ranked them all, and then declared the offense 16th, but props if you did. Nevertheless, 16th is average, right? As in, non-suckage?

What was the adjusted offensive rank of the 2005 team? Because the main thing I wanted to discuss was if the loss of Bledsoe, Henry, and Moulds/McGahee wearing down could have been the difference between the first year's average+ outing and the second year's struggle.

Anyway, I'ma starting to doze off so I'm gonna stop here. Honestly, I dunno what the I just wrote, but I hope it's good...or at least literate, haha. Oh, and my source was Pro Football Reference! Just typed in "buffalo bills 2004" and it was first. I'll try to reiterate tomorrow if I care enough to.

You're just picking and choosing whatever statistics fit your argument, you're looking at everything with bias. Why should I give credence to anything you say?

Based on the points the offense scored they would have been 16th. Clements had nothing to do with the return game or the defense.

Their defense was ranked 8th and one of the highest in the league that year in takeaways. The offense should be able to score points when they are getting the ball in good field position.

The Bills defense that year had 24 ints! 24!

That is total bullcrap. I gave the stats for total offense, passing offense, first downs. On all they they were ranked well below average.

The team passing rating was 76. I don't think Dinger ever had an offense here that had a team rating that low.

Enough stats for you? Offensive genius? Miracle man?

    2004 Bills offense..

    Total offense----------25th
    Yards per play---------26th
    3rd down %-----------20th
    Passing rating 76------22nd
    Rushing yards per play-13th
    Total rushing ---------13th
    Passing yards---------27th
    Passing yards per play-27th
    Time of possesion -----14th

    2005 Bills offense

    Total offense----------28th
    Yards per play---------28th
    3rd down %-----------20th
    Passing rating 75.........23rd
    Rushing yards per play-20th
    Total rushing----------20th
    Passing---------------29th
    Passing yards per play-29th
    TOP------------------23rd

The key to these stats in my opinion are the passing and third down numbers from 2004. He had a stable vet QB in Bledsoe, 2 #1 type Wrs in Moulds and Evans. Yet none of the passing stats are above average in fact well below. From the total yards, yards per play to passing rating all are sub par.

That's why you want him right because you think he will give us a dynamic passing game? Were the 2004 Bills dynamic? If anything the passing game declined when clements got there because bledsoe made the pro bowl with over 4000 yards in 2002.

Well we did not get the guy. We got some old geezer who probably spends more time in the bathroom and at the store buying Viagra than coaching up an offense. Pathetic hire by the Titans. We are a joke now, it's official.
