I agree with what you said, no argument.

Total yards for a season, even with a less than stellar line, CJ is probably going to get the most yards. If it had not been Fisher ball, CJ could have helped win more games than he did here.

All I am saying is that Fisher ball usually did not involve much passing. Teams expected the ball to be run by Eddie just like with CJ. If Chris runs for 1 or 0. somebody had to make up 9 yds for the 1st down, Old Ed would usually get two or three allowing a more manageable 3rd down. It also ate up clock, which is great if you have the defense to keep a low score. I believe most of Eddies games show he did better in the last quarter because of the TOP and his sometimes brutal hits.

CJ could torch less talented teams. He was by far the most explosive, and I believe he remains that way, with a little better offensive line help.I think with a better line and QB, CJ could be the best anyone has ever seen.

I never liked Fisherball, even when the Titans won, it seemed like they barely won by a field goal, though this may have not been the case.

I guess we could argue forever and maybe I am wrong. But I just believe Eddie was better for the Fisherball stuff, and that CJ would easily be the best for most normal teams offense.

I think we should ask this question at the end of CJ's career, and truly say who had the better stats and who helped the Titans win more games. While CJ may not be the same leader of the team as Eddie was. I have no doubt he will torch all of Eddie's stats

hey guys...long time. but i saw this and was i need to say something. overall, contrary to popular belief i'd choose CJ.

firstly, its not fair to compare a retired player to one still very young. CJ has been on the field for only three years, as starter in two, he still has not even matured to his best. to say that a 2k rusher has not yet hit is prime is a statement and a half. he still waits too long, bouncing around, to hit the hole looking for the homerun. eddie definitely hit the hole faster, b/c he could not do what CJ can, not nearly as fast nor as effective - power was his game and it worked in fishers offense.

guys watch some of his highlights, he uses his speed as power to topple over players, and im not talking just DBs, no im talking LBs and DLmen. yes, i also agree that he is not used in the best way, but Eddie was. Im thinking more B-West type player now. He is a new blood type player, in a very old school system. He also deals with some serious stacked boxes. Although we were still definitely a running team back in EG's days, we had a much more balanced offense with players like mcnair, mason, maccarins, dyson, whycheck, etc...

I loved EG, i still rock his jersey, 27 baby blue. but i honestly didnt think when i opened this thread, eddie would be winning. Guys here are mad a lot. i'm telling you if the titans were winning, there would be a much different scene around here.

CJ IMO also did have a bad year. but he also had two very good ones. Hes a great talent, who i bet if was in Andy's offense would be lighting **** up. you know, i cant recall that many swing passes to him this year at all, i was at times very surprised with our play calling. most of CJ i saw was run, up the gut. i mean the guy is good, he has broken lose countless times, but again its not his game. that gut run needs to be his alternative run, not his consistent one. this guy needs to line up everywhere to get him in open space. they want to stack the box, so move him.

im sorry, even if i was to be leaning toward eddie, agreeing with Jeff, i'd still say its not fair to compare the two yet.

Chris Johnson in a close one. Eddie was a very good ball control running back, of which this league (and this franchise) has seen many. CJ is the freak-of-nature type of back with extraordinary vision combined with speed and good footwork. There have only been a few of those in the league (Barry Sanders, OJ Simpson and Gayle Sayers come to mind) which is why I'd give him the edge.

However, neither one of them is as good a football player as the Tyler Rose was.

These last two posts say is perfectly. Eddie is winning this pole because he was apart of our winning teams and the one that went to the Super Bowl. It was tough to watch CJ fall short this past season after having such an amazing season in '09. If CJ continued to get an average of 1500 yards for last long as LT has been in the league he could easily push for the top RB of all time.

As I said before, once CJ is retired there will be NO question he was the better of the two.

At least Eddie did fall forward for 2 yards. You never saw him getting the negatives like CJ has a problem with.

CJ proved himself worthy his rookie season. Basically have the same team and added CJ, others contributed nicely but nothin wut CJ gave us. 3 more wins from the previous yr, better offense, and when he got hurt in the Ravens playoff game after tearing it up, we scored THREE points the rest of the game. Had he not gone out, it looked very promising we woulda won that game. Somebody said Earl Campbell in this thread and well.. HOF to two non HOF'ers ( CJ isnt done so cant fully put that on him ) so Earl would win for best franchise back for us. But between the two idk how u could said Eddie real talk... The stats back up CJ and CJs impact in big moments prove other wise. Like i said that playoff game, CJ's loss was HUGE. HAd we lost Eddie in a playoff game probbbbbbbably wouldnt be too bad.

so Lendale White and Brandon Jacobs and every average powerback to ever play the game is better than CJ too because they fall forward for 2 yards whenever CJ ISN'T breaking 40 yard TDs?

What a dumb argument, no one in this thread has provided any statistical data that supports Eddie George. Wonder why? Because there is none, CJ blows him out in ever statistical category.

Like I said before, Poor man's Cal Ripken vs Hank Aaron, no comparison..
