You "claim" you want to talk football, but its clear you only want to talk about Vince Young. Why can't you just keep in the thread that designated "All things VY here"?

We can do all of this without VY on the roster.

LOADED??? No. VY can't finish a season. Moss did nothing last season. Nate Washington, Hawkins, Cook, Stephens, D.Williams have really done nothing special and I certainly don't think they make a team loaded.

Well what are we gonna do? Re-sign AH and Bulluck and you think they are going to give us the same production they did in 2008?

I couldn't disagree with you more on any of this. We are several starters away from being a Superbowl team.

Only true if we get some good leadership, and it starts with the head coach. Even with the iffy offensive coordinator hire, I like what Munchak has done.

He wasn't given one because he left. It was a half-assed apology on twitter, he should have showed up at one of the practices with a formal apology in front of the whole team, regardless of Fisher. Or he could have showed up at the games and supported his teammates, I'm pretty sure he easily could have gotten a press conference as reporters/journalists most likely had a lot of questions for him.

Like I said before, the only chance as he has now (and that's a very, very, very slim chance) would be to still issue some kind of formal public apology and offer to be the back up to start off training up and earn his starting job back.

At this point in time pre-draft and pre free agency we are among the bottom third of the league. We were a 6-10 team and that's about the talent we currently have with the starters top to bottom.

I would love the addition of Flynn for a 3rd rounder and McClain and Joseph through Free Agency, I would even accept Atogwe, but I feel the guy we drafted out of Utah last year, Robert Johnson, could step in at Safety and do a bang up job in Hope's place.

Barry Cofield would be fantastic as well, but frankly just an impact DT who could come in and help. It'd be nice to see us make a play for Von Miller too, he could be a HUGE shifter for that defense.

    So...

    Matt Flynn for 3rd rounder
    Le'Ron McClain
    Davin Joseph
    Barry Cofield
    Von Miller (1st round pick)
    (Possibly) O.J. Atogwe

Those are realistic possibilities, and I wouldn't even rule out adding a 'Malcom Floyd' type WR and I could see us adding another DT, DE, OT, S, MLB, and CB in the draft.

    Food for thought.

I agree with CJ on this one. We had a lot of injuries on the d-line, Britt was hurt, we used 3 different quarterbacks, and had a defensive coordinator who wasn't really a defensive coordinator. Also keep in mind that CJ had a bad year for CJ standards, D-Will now has a full year of experience while Cook had another. Moss with a walking cane is still better than Gage, so if Moss stays, hopefully we'll see the "Randy/Justin Ratio" next season..30 snaps to 0. And penalties were a killer, and you can teach discipline.

If we get a proven quarterback, we can certainly do 6-10 or better, and that's without additional free agent pick-ups and the draft.

Who thought we had a 13-3 team in 08 before the season started...

15-20 years wont happen i would almost say its not possible but anything is possible but highly unlikely that anyone would play 15-20 years at runningback and you think cj is so fast but most people think that he lost a step between last year and the previous year along with the fact that defenses took better angles, loaded the box and our terrible playcalling cj got used and abused last year and the year before.....and it will affect him in the long run he has about 5-7 years left with around 3-4 hitting the top and then beginning the decline of his career/....

and it also is a matter of if we decide we actually want to pay cj....

The team had a 13-4 stretch over the last two disappointing seasons. You can't do that without talent.

Depending on what roster moves are made and how the team responds, I could see anywhere between 4-12 and 12-4 for next season.

A lot of this teams problems are fixable.

Our defense sucked partially because Cecil is horrible and partially because our offense couldn't sustain drives and left our defense out there gassed.

Our offense was horrible after VY went down and because Heimerdinger sucks at using a little thing called imagination. Now was VY the answer to our QB need maybe maybe not and did he handicap the offense due to his lack of knowledge who knows but Dinger made us so predictable it was pathetic.

    Cut down on penalties.

So sustaining drives on offense and cutting down on penalties will make this team instantly better.

We still need better players at some spots but this is a start and could make us competitive this year.
