I tend to read lot of mocks when I'm bored and I've seen us trading down in a couple.
The three teams I have seen us trading down with are:

Detriot(I think X was the first one on here to suggest it) #13+#75-------#8
    New England #28,#33 and #92 for #8
    San Diego(to 3rd rounders I believe). #18,#50 and #114 for #8

For me it will be at a last gasp offer coz we gotta see who's there.
No Miller,Dareus,Fairley,Bowers,Peterson, and I would listen to offers,
We got a ton of needs.
Anyone else interested in trading down?

I think we should. I don't think there is much value at #8 and if we can get more picks by trading down, we can get a lot of solid players instead of banking on one.

That has never worked out well for us, historically. It's a nice thought, but getting a top 10 pick is big.

Can't let the past determine the future. Pats are notorious for moving down and stocking up on picks. Seems to be working for them. Trading down is not the problem it is we never capitalized on those extra picks for example Ben Troupe but that shouldn't stop the team from looking into it depending on how the board falls.

Depends on who is available at #8.

Thats very untrue... We traded down in two drafts that I can recall and in those drafts we picked Eddie George and Javon Kearse. Actually we traded down twice in the Kearse draft. Besides, haven't we all seen what the Patriots do year after year to keep their team competitive? A team such as ours, with several glaring holes and plenty of needs, should be working this draft like crazy to move down and pick up additional picks... especially 2012 picks.

You must have missed the much most recent draft that we did this. We ended up with the studs (Odom, Troupe and Laboy) instead of getting our 1st round pick.

And we are a far cry from the Patriots organizationally. They have a stud at QB, and their very good defensive players were high picks. I think we need all the 1st round talent we can get. I'm not totally opposed to moving a little lower in the 1st (like top 15 or so), but I'm rarely optimistic about moving down into the second, like we've done.

History tends to repeat itself. Getting more players doesn't mean it's worth the risk of missing out on top 10 talent.

i would trade down and give our fourth and first for someone first second and fourth then try to pick up a late second by giving up the second we get and forth or something try to get 2 first round picks somehow get a o lineman in pouncey and a corner is jimmy smith or someone in the later of first round

If I'm not mistaken we traded our first round pick that year for Kevin Carter we didn't trade down. Troupe was our first pick of that draft, near the top on the 2nd round.

Odom was actually pretty good for us and had a good year in cincy until he got hurt.

You can't say take the pick because it is a top 10 pick if nobody there is worth it.
