This is very true, I had forgotten about that. Yeah just let him go, he would not be that hard to replace.

I'm trying to decide which is better, a DE who gets 6 or 7 sacks per year, or one who gets 12 but gives up tons of first downs because of stupid personal fouls??

I'd take my chances with someone else other than Babin.

Gotta put some of those penalties on the previous staff. Fisher always defended penalties and I can never recall him getting miffed. If Munch is going back to fundamentals I'd think one of the first things they will address are stupid neutral zone infractions etc..

3 yrs./$25 million? No way he requires that. Vanden Bosch, who had a much better resume, got 4 yrs./$26 million/$10 million guaranteed - and most thought he got overpaid in order for Schwartz to get him in Detroit. How will Babin get $1 million less over fewer years? Doesn't make sense, and I think Babin wants to stay here, so you'd think the deal would be friendly. Other teams won't drive the price up since they know he has been unsuccessful elsewhere, so I don't see him having much leverage.

I want Babin back. We have Morgan coming off an injury, William Hayes who makes little impact, Jacob Ford is a FA, and Dave Ball is Dave Ball (and I think he's a FA too). We need the bodies, so I think it'd be a poor decision to let a guy who had 12.5 sacks last year go, regardless of the penalties he caused (which, lets face it, half the defense had boneheaded penalties last year).

I'm hoping for something around 3 yrs./$14-16 million/$5-6 million guaranteed.

I used that as a ballpark figure, Wyatt pointed out that if we were to tag him it would cost $12 Million so I just threw that out there. I'm also ok with something like a 3-year $15 Million deal.

    3 yr/$25mil??? God, I hope not. That's insane.

He's worth 3 yr/$3mil... but since our d-line sucks I would be okay giving him a 3 yr/$10 mil deal. That is the absolute maximum I would pay him.

    Honestly,

might as well just franchise tag him.

It's not like we have anywhere else this offseason where we'd be using it / need to use it

Not a chance he has a similar year. Cut him loose.

With the jury still out on Morgan, I think the Titans got to try to keep him.

I would like to see some penalty stats on him compared to some other DE's.
