All I'm saying is that we don't know Reinfeldt's involvement in the Blount disaster. To absolve him of all blame and place it all on Fisher is convenient, but may not be accurate. I really doubt that Fisher had 100% of the say in roster decisions like that one.

Yeah... Fisher could ink coaches with no one knowing, but he couldn't make roster decisions like all other coaches...

    erm...

If you are under the impression that head coaches make all the roster decisions for their respective teams, you are mistaken. That's just now how it works in most cases. What do you think GMs do? GMs make a lot of those decisions.

Anyhow, this isn't really worth discussing anymore. If you (and others) want to blame Fisher for Blount, go for it. It won't change anything. Heck, I admit it was probably Fisher's fault. All I'm saying is that we don't know for sure it was his decision.

Dude. Talent evaluations are on the coach. Roster management is on the coach.

    That's pretty understood.

The GM handles the more technical aspects. Salaries, FA, draft, etc.

But what we do know, is if he wanted a player to stay- he would have stayed. See: Donnie Nickey.

Despite how you think it works, it is very rare for coaches waive players without consulting their general managers. Brad Childress got absolutely killed when he did it with Randy Moss. Many coaches don't even have the power to do it (that responsibility falls to the GM or VP of Player Personnel).

That's all I'm saying. I have a hard time believing Fisher would have decided it was smart to waive Blount unless everyone was on board. Putting all the blame at Fisher's feet is going a bit far.

wasn't it pretty well documented that fisher had complete control of pretty much everything?

As long as we don't use our 2nd rounder on him. A big back would certain benefit us.

That's not true at all. Fisher probably requested certain players on his roster (ex. Nickey), but overall rosters are determined together with the GM. Have you ever watched Hard Knocks?

I think the point must be stressed that no team featured on Hard Knocks was so thoroughly corrupted as the Titans were under Jeff Fisher. He signed a lot of STAFF without knowledge of the front office. If the front office doesn't have to know about FO moves he makes, what makes you think it's any different than players? Money is a lot more important in that front office than players.

Are you kidding? The Bengals? As far as corruption goes in the NFL, Mike Brown probably stands tall as the king. He's skewed the revenue sharing model so far in his favor that he makes money regardless of whether he spends any money on his team. Not to mention, he's the self-proclaimed Owner/President/General Manager, he has final say on all roster moves, and he requires that he sits in on EVERY team meeting. Either way, I was making a general claim as to how most front offices work.
