I understand that, I really do. But these WR are 10X more likely to be successful than any QB in the draft this year. Draft the WR, trade for a QB or sign one once the CBA is done.

I suspect neither Rice or Moss would have blown up with a second year Rusty Smith throwing to them..
Wasn't it ironically Walsh who said WR is the final piece to the championship pie..

How many examples do you have of great receivers turning around bad teams? It's really a case of bigger risk/bigger reward. I'd rater risk being terrible, for a possibility at one day being great, than settling for mediocrity. I mean we did just get right of Fisher, do we really want to go back to his style?

I wouldn't be disappointed with Green or Jones, both have tremendous talent. I doubt I'll be disappointed with the guy we pick because he'll have top-ten talent(except for Newton). I'd just hate to see the talents of Britt and Jones/Green go to waste because we don't have anyone to get them the ball. Add to the fact that we have a serious need for playmakers on defense, and I just don't see it happening.

Exactly the thought I had. Getting the right QB can turn a franchise around immediately.

I guess I am looking at the long term future. I feel like this years draft is and us needing a QB is like going to a car lot, wanting a new Camaro, and they don't have the SS. So we are willing to settle on the V6 because that is all they have. We need a QB, but are there any there that are going to "Turn around" our franchise? Why not take the sure thing, and trade, or wait until next year? With two GREAT WR, Britt and AJ or Jones, and a crafty vet our offense will be ok....plus that CJ guy we got.

It depends on the grades they have on the QBs in this draft. If they believe one is a franchise QB, and he is there at #8, then you do not pass on him.

...and several guys to make sure THAT guy gets out on the field.

Nothing against Jones, but I'll be upset if the Titans take a WR first.

Gabbert apparently looked very impressive on the board. Teams really liked him in the interviews.

Yep, I saw that too. They said Mallett did well on the board too.
