When I read that I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if when we cut Henry some board of some other team didn't have posters discussing how Henry could be a beast for them and they should give him a shot.

In fairness to Henry he idd make a highlight reel when he got his brains splattered on that kick off. That is more than Golston did his career so far.

Titans have been all about rehabbing busted players, especially at DE.

If not for the Titans, KVB and Babin would be broke now.

Try Gholston at DE, if he sucks as bad as expected, get rid of him, we do those moves every year. He knows he's not going to make good money. Maybe we can get a Babinesque performance out of him.

Provided Kris Jenkins can stay healthy, he'd be worth looking into. I think he could probably make the switch from NT to DT in a 4-3. After all, the guy is HUGE. However, the Jets releasing him says to me that maybe he can't stay healthy. He's a beast when he's on the field, so I doubt they'd just cut him if he still had some sort of real value. Who knows, I'd like to think we'd show at least a little interest though. He's the only real free agent right now that I think we ought to be looking into, we need the help of a LARGE man at DT. That would fill a HUGE hole in our dline

Pass rushing 4-3 DE and 3-4 OLB are measured by their sacks. He has 0 in his career. There is absolutely no reason we should bring him in here and ask him to switch positions. He sucks at his old position, he'll probably suck at his new one too. The dude played on an awesome D his entire career and couldn't register a single effing sack. No thanks. If you're suggesting that maybe he can go from 0 sacks in 3 years to 12 sacks in one year, I'm suggesting that you're out of your mind.

we also had the best DL coach in the league with Wash who constantly did alot with nothing.....
that being said gholston is just flat out bad. i wouldnt pay him pocket change to be in a titans uniform. i think we can get a good DE with our first round pick if management decides to do that but gholston isnt even a good band aid for a year.

my prediction on him: he'll be out of football in two years

First round DE back to back years? Doubtful, and for good reason. We need to be looking LB DT or SS in the first round

Maybe he can find himself as a pure pass-rusher from the 3 point stance, without any other responsibilities. Maybe he was just an idiot, and the coverage responsibilities took his mind out of the game.

I'm not suggesting he will be a superstar, but he may be worth a look, because maybe with some work, he could live up to half of the potential he had. I mean, we throw away draft picks about every year on DEs that don't ever do anything for us. What will it hurt to pay him chickenfeed to try and earn a spot? The only real loser here is the Jets for wasting a pick on him. He is likely more physically gifted than anybody we can bring in in the later rounds this year.

And BTW I think Rocker will be a great D-line coach for us. It's not like Washburn was being hailed as great last season, and the year before when we couldn't do anything up front.

i agree completely i was also assuming we dont resign Babin, then we'd still need someone across from morgan. maybe not a round one need but a need to fill

    Exactly.

If he has regressed physically, or doesn't work hard, can't pick up the defense, gets in trouble, or whatever, cut him like you did with Mike Williams, Raheem Brock, Tye Hill, Bryan Scott, etc. I don't see how it could possibly hurt anything. The guy is 24, was an All-American, and is (or at least was) very physically gifted. I don't see any downside to considering him...

Or perhaps all of these things are already the case which is why this clown couldn't register a SINGLE good play (sack, FF, RF) in his entire 3 year bust of a career? Why waste our time with other teams garbage? Aren't we all tired of that?
