    Seems they have added 8 more definitions of a defenseless player....see below:

    --A quarterback in the act of throwing
    --A receiver trying to catch a pass;
    --A runner already in the grasp of tacklers and having his forward progress stopped;
    --A player fielding a punt or a kickoff;
    --A kicker or punter during the kick;
    --A quarterback at any time after change of possession;
    --A receiver who receives a blind-side block;
    --A player already on the ground.

    Now...I am really wanting to see how they plan to enforce the ones I have in bold. Its getting to the point where the QB is pretty much off limits at any time unless he is just standing there holding the ball. That is pretty ridiculous. And if they continue to allow QBs, say after an INT, to dive into the legs of opposing players as we have seen in the past year or two, then they cannot make them off limits after the COP.

    Not sure I understand adding all these. I agree with a couple...but man...

    A player fielding a punt or a kickoff? So if they don't call a fair catch, the defender isn't allowed to hit the returner? Why would anyone call a faircatch then?

    The NFL is making a joke out of football in their attempt to improve the games quality.

    By 2013 QBs will be wearing red jerseys on the field. And I agree about the kick returning; isn't that the whole point of the fair catch rule?

    "At next week's owners meetings in New Orleans, the competition committee will propose moving the kickoff up to the 35-yard line, and bringing a touchback out to the 25. There would be no changes for touchbacks on any other plays, with the ball coming out to the 20.

    No player other than the kicker would be allowed to line up more than 5 yards behind the ball, and the committee will suggest outlawing the wedge on kickoffs; all blocking wedges were reduced to two players in 2009."

    Wussification of the NFL.

    Wow...the QB after change of possession is just ridiculous. The only way that flies is if for the QB to make a tackle or block after a change of possession becomes a penalty, which is just as stupid.

    Jeez, lets just put flags on him and say he can't be tackled...

    I could be wrong, but I thought you were allowed to hit defenseless players . . . just not in the head.

    Please tell me this is some kind of joke.

    Hitting a QB in the act of throwing, eh, what the hell is that? Why not just change the league to a 7 on 7 league and be rid of the offensive and defensive lines altogether? The NFL is being ruined as we speak thanks to heads like RG. :(

    So basically you can't sack the QB?
