I couldn't tell you much of anything about the players surrounding him. They're an FCS school so I'd venture to guess that he doesn't have outstanding talents around him, although they are one of the top FCS teams in the nation.

only threw 3 INTs on something like 400 attempts this season.

    Bump.

I'm still sticking with Ponder as the best overall IF healthy, and Stanzi best overall if not.

Stanzi is miles ahead of Blaine Gabbert, yet gets no hype... amazes me.

"The "26-27-60" College QB theory? Stanzi = Passed

26 or greater scored on the Wonderlic = PASS (Stanzi at 30)
27 games started in college = PASS (Stanzi started 35 games according to Hawkeyesports.com)
60% or greater completion percentage PASS = (Stanzi finished his career at 59.8%, I would be comfortable giving him a passing grade there)

Bill Parcells would like Ricky Stanzi as well...

The Bill Parcells College QB Litmus Test? Stanzi = Passed

Be a minimum 3 year starter = PASS (after sharing time for the first 4 games, Stanzi wrestled the full starting job away from Jake Christensen the rest of his Sophomore season)
Has at least 23 wins in his career = PASS (a 26-9 overall career record for a 74.2% winning percentage, according to Hawkeyesports.com)
Plays his senior season = PASS (played/started from his Sophomore to Senior Season, including winning all 3 of his Bowl Game appearances)
College Graduate = PASS (Completed Degree in December 2010) "

Deep analysis! Makes me wonder why you have not yet been offered several GM jobs.

Have you somehow missed the 200 posts where I pick Newton apart?

He sucks. That's the easiest way to put it without going over and over the same technical issues the guy has.

I don't care what Bill Parcels says. Some do.

And Chad Henne would be a good QB if he could simply get the ball in to the endzone. He's good between the 20s. Not that I expect you to have any idea about how he's actually played.

Are you dense? You just said that his test for drafting a QB was valid.

Regarding Stanzi vs Gabbert? Gabbert is bigger, Gabbert has a stronger arm and Gabbert is a little better athlete. I agree the difference might not be so great for them to be 4 rounds apart but that is the case with a lot of players.

As for taking Newton apart? Lame.

Hmm, out of this class I am really up in the air. I hated Cam at first, but out of this class I think he is the most talented. Locker is probably the safest pick. I am a Boise St fan and hope the Kellen Moore proves all the nay sayers wrong next year. He is the next Drew Brees.

I like Devlin, but what separates him from every spread QB. Being a former player in the Texas Tech spread, I see a mirror image of every one of our QBs and Devlin. The ability to step into throws, quick passes, what I really liked was the fact that every ball he put on his WRs body, so they didn't have to make a big adjustment and they could rack up some YACs. That shows his accuracy. But not much from a Pro-Style offense, just another spread, making it difficult to really break down his QB ablilities.

Great! He can join Vince Young on the Bigger-Stronger-Faster junkpile.

(Sorry, wasn't meaning to attack your post. I actually like Gabbert. I just reject all evaluations that are based on physicality.)
