I have more confidence now with MR running personnel issues than i did with MR and Fisher working together. It's always hard to judge a GM because it takes time and it will take a while to judge if his first head coaching hire was a good one.

27 out of 37 draft picks are still with the team. We have not had too many high picks that were total busts.

One thing i like better is taking a chance on a Qb in rd 5 like rusty smith. Even if Smith doesn't pan out i like that approach better than Reese's who signed udfa QBs who had no chance in hell of being good nfl players.

1 out of every 10 picks should be used on a QB unless that position is already iron clad.

'07 Rd 2 and Rd 3 are depressing. We could of gotten Steve Smith (Rd2) and Michael Bush (Rd3).

Paul Williams and Chris Henry were Reinfeldts WORST picks imo.

And I for one firmly believe they were Fisher picks: both workout warriors who could supposedly be "developed" into actual football players.

Reinfeldt has hit on every single first-rounder (jury is still out on Morgan of course) and has found solid starters in the mid-rounds (McRath, Verner, Stevens, Cook, possibly Damian Williams). That's better than most GMs in their first four years. Haye is really his only miss that has cost us anything, and even that wasn't a real bank-breaker.

Reinfeldt's good stuff, and we were smart to extend him.

So you say in one thread that we have a roster ready for a Super Bowl run, then in another you think the GM sucks? Who do you think put that roster together? Reinfeldt has done more then fine. I am looking forward to seeing how well he does with Fisher out of the picture. That being said, if this thread was started because of the comments Munch made about the decision to part with VY being final, it needs to stop. First it was on Fisher, now Reinfeldt? At some point the blame has to move to where it belongs, squarely on VY's shoulders.

How much influence do you think Fisher has had in these drafts?

I would say he's had a lot but I really don't think so. If he did Vince wouldn't have been on the team (opinions on that one vary ha ha).

The one pick he probably did have a hand in (Mariani) turned out great.

And as far as Fisher, I actually think he could've remained a good coach if he would've just adjusted and toned down his ego a little.

I think Reinfeldt definitely has the upperhand in drafting. And to be quite honest, I don't think he's done a great job. For example, what is the identity of our team? How many pro bowlers do we have? How happy were the players in our system?

I think Reinfeldt is part of the problem.

    You make a valid point.

As of right now we don't have a QB. Personnel decision.

In the past we've had several mishaps with our top picks. Now every team is gonna go through that, but how many of our top picks are still around?

We've been in the hunt for a long time, but when are we gonna make it over the top? Isn't that the same problem people had with Fisher? Nobody was concerned with being bottom feeders, but most of us did want to make it over the hump.

I throw Reinfeldt in the same boat.

Actually most of Reinfeldt's picks are still with the team. Keep in mind, his first draft was 2007. He has made very few picks I disagreed with. Mainly Chris Henry and Paul Williams, and I'll admit I disagreed with the Chris Johnson pick, I wanted Desean Jackson, but he hit a home run with that pick.
I'm interested in seeing how he does building a roster without Fisher's influence. Hopefully he'll clear some of the guys off like Gage and Nickey.
