It's different when you're running in gym shorts. This is what I said about 1 month ago when xpmar9x posted his mock draft.

    Colin McCarthy analysis:

Mel Kiper's Draft Report: #2 ranked MLB. He gives you everything he has on the field and was a real leader on defense. What really jumped out at me during his career was his ability on special teams. As a linebacker, he is a good athlete with top instincts, plus he's a sure tackler. He's worked as a starter at both MLB and OLB with his production and game to game consistency a real attention getter. At the Combine he locked an impressive 4.65-40 showcasing impressive athletic ability. That proved that the NFL won't overwhelm him, meaning that he's much more than just a big special teams performer. He has what it takes to carve a niche as a starting MLB.

Draftinsiders.com: Fine underrated athlete for chase Will backer in a 4-3 defense. Good addition and fast rising top 100 prospect. He is similar in athleticism and versatility to defender A. J. Hawk with that type of instincts, toughness, athletic ability, and field speed. Top special teams skills to be an ace on coverage units and good nickel backer. Hard nosed kid with high level of development to start early.

Mike Detillier's Draft Report: #3 ranked ILB. Colin is an outstanding athlete who can project to middle linebacker or the strongside spot. He has very good chasedown speed moving side to side and he can move in quickly with his closing speed. Very instinctive player and he is a very aware and smart performer out on the field. Tough guy out on the field and he is a physical player at the point of attack. Colin has really improved his pass coverage skills and techniques. Hasn't been used that much as an inside blitzer. He has been nicked up some in college and there is concern how well he can hold up at the next level. Savvy player who is tough and versatile, and he has very good football instincts. If he can stay healthy he has a chance to be a real good starting player in the NFL.

Pro Football Weekly: Played out of position as a senior and is more natural outside where his instincts and run-and-hit ability show. Will contribute readily on special teams and has starter potential as a 4-3 weak side linebacker if he can stay healthy-a big if that could drive down his draft stock. Projected 3rd-4th round.

ESPN Insider: What he brings: McCarthy reads his keys well and has a nose for the ball. He also takes good angles and is a solid tackler, but he lacks elite athleticism and range and he will have limitations in coverage.
How he fits: The Titans have already addressed need at OLB with Akeem Ayers and now they move inside with McCarthy. They have a solid starter at MLB in Stephen Tulloch but he may leave in free agency and that would leave a hug hole. If Tulloch stays, McCarthy could be a significant backup and significant special teams contributor.

I agree, it's also really annoying.

I have not been very impressed with the draft coverage this year. The ex-players announcing team picks was awesome, but the commentary and analysis this year was lacking.

I'd love to get Denarius Moore, but I think we could get him in the 6th.
