Why try to fix every need in a rebuilding year? do you want to be contenders next year with a new QB,New Coaches, new defense new OL etc...? it aint gonna happen. We have addressed our biggest needs in this draft. It's time to put the pieces together and see what happens and where we stand by week 16.

Texans have drafted all defense and all of them are crazy guys that have no regard for their bodies. i like that plan they had.

Agreed, this draft lost me when we took the RB that would have gone undrafted with some serious talent still on the board. Mayock likes Klug but where he hell will he play? It almost seems as though we are trying to make a transition to the 3-4.

Ayers - Very well suited for a 3-4 rush OLB, dude can really get to the QB.

The DT, is very stocky and suited for a 3-4, he's a little light to play but if he beefs up 10-15 pounds he could anchor.

McCarthy - He could also be a good rush OLB, has the speed and strength to do so.

Klug - Could be a very solid 5 technique, move Jason Jones to the other end now you have 2 boarder line 300 pound DE's

To everyone complaining about our picks being huge reaches, how do you know that? Because Mel Kiper or NFL.com has them ranked lower? If the Titans have a 5th round grade on Klug or a 4th round grade on Harper then how can you say no other NFL teams have them ranked similarly?

IMO you have to get your guys in the draft. Playing the "wait and see how far they fall" game is very dangerous. More often than not you'll probably end up missing on the player entirely if you're constantly worrying about getting max value. Now clearly, if you take a 3rd round guy in the 1st or something then that's insane. But this late in the draft there's not a huge difference between a 4th round talent and a 7th round talent. And I'd be willing to bet there is a TON of variation in what each team's big board looks like for these later rounds.

Proving that one can easily make the switch to a 3-4 from a 4-3 in a single draft.

    Damn.

Oh well, no one I have enough knowledge about to be interested in the rest of the draft. Maybe we go Tyrod Taylor or Pat Devlin in the 7th round as some QB insurance. Then again, what's the point if we plan to keep Rusty and bring in a vet cause we sure are not rolling with 4QBs on the roster.

So far I look at this draft as pretty average. Would've rather had Fairley, but glad we have Locker instead of any other QB this draft. Like the Ayers pick.

After that it ranges between "meh" and "blah".

I'd also love to remind everyone that we found a great starter in the 4th (Verner) and a Pro-Bowl KR and potentially great slot WR (Mariani) in the 7th.

I don't think anybody was amazed by those picks but we saw how they turned out. Please, let's save the judgments for when they hit the field. I think the whole point is thoughts, not writing off any player drafted in the 4th or later rounds that isn't the exact guy you predicted or wanted.
