Should we still make a an effort in getting this guy?

I think we should I would be p*** if we didnt

    Justification:
McNabb is a mobile QB we I feel has some fuel left in the tank maybe a year or two
He is the cloest Qb I feel to Jake Locker skill set
He will be able to show Jake how to run the bootlegs, sprint outs, use his mobility in the pocket, and to use the mobililty to keep plays alive without just taking down field

It would make me even more p*** if we keep collins or get anyone else Jake will not be a pocket passer which we tried doing to vince, collins is not mobile at all and its pointless to keep to Qb with different skill sets on the team I really want to see someone with similar skills to Jake to show him how to the play the game with his ability and not try to make him something he will never be

I believe Jake will flourish if we let him play the game how he wants to play it. Thats using his athleticism to keep plays alive and move around in the pocket.

Fisher is gone so I dont think we have to worry about sticking the round peg in the square hole anymore. McNabb would be perfect but anyone not named KFC would be. I cant watch KFC anymore!

Yeah it's a beggars can't be choosers market. I hope we're able to get a decent vet like Hasselbeck, Bulger, McNabb. It all really depends on when the lockout gets resolved. If it goes on into the summer when training camp would normally be, it increases the likelyhood we have to put Collins (*shudders*) out there again. I would absolutely hate that, but the lockout is probably screwing the Titans more than any other team.

I definitely agree with you, and would love to have McNabb mentor Locker for a couple years instead of using KFC or rushing Locker out there. The problem is, how much is McNabb going to cost to trade for? I think it will be far more likely that we take a guy like Bulger.

There's a 95% chance the skins are going to release McNabb, it likely won't take a trade to get him. But I think he'll end up going to Minnesota.

Only if he's willing to be a mentor and only if the Titans can sign him as a free agent for cheap.

I kind of get the impression that McNabb thinks he's still a big deal and he won't want to sign a short-term contract and then mentor the guy who's going to take his job. I think he'd much rather go to a team like Minnesota with a lot of veterans and the chance to maybe compete for a Super Bowl.

I still think the vet the Titans sign will be either Hasselbeck or Collins. I think Hasselbeck would be a very good mentor.

I get the same impression about McNabb. I don't see McNabb signing a 1 or 2 year contract to play for a team with a up and coming rookie QB, unless it's big time upfront money.

Agreed. The Skins are much the same situation with McNabb as we are with VY. The rest of the league knows the relationship is over so who's going to offer up players/draft picks when they know a release is coming.

Yeah. Honestly, I'm hoping for Hasselbeck or Bulger. I know they aren't sexy names at this point and their best days are well behind them. But we Titan fans need to accept the very high likelihood that we aren't going to be serious contenders this year anyway. We need an experienced mentor for Locker. Getting him up to speed and NFL ready should be priority #1 this season.

I know Collins fits that past-his-prime mentor role to a T. I just think it's time to move on from him. New OC. New offense. Let's bring in a new veteran as well.

McNabb would be ideal. But I fully expect him to end up in Arizona or Miami (teams that missed/passed on QB in the draft). An upgrade at QB could be the difference between "bottom of the barrel" and "playoff contender" for those teams.
