Gotta have a vet, who knows what Locker will do.

Hass would be a great mentor for Locker. I know he wanted more money than the seahawks were willing to pay him, but our situation is a little different, we need someone who can show a rookie the ropes and also help win some games. Bulger reportedly already has a deal in principle in place with Arizona. McNabb will be going to Minnesota most likely. Alex Smith is pretty much a lock to re-sign in San Fran. Hasselbeck may be our only option unless we really want to start scaping the bottom of the barrell, which would include resigning Collins. All this hinges on the stupid freaking lockout though.

And for the record, Munch never said he was against signing a vet I don't think. Obviously we have to, it would be counterproductive to just hand the job to Locker, but I think he just wants to give his guy every chance to earn the job, understandable.

    What did Munch say?

I wouldn't mind Hasslebeck I think he could do an above average job with our talent and be a great mentor. As long as it isn't Collins again.

    I like Gradkowski too

I like Gradkowski as well, but he would want a more permanent position.

This would be the best thing for Locker, I think it really hurts a QB when their thrown in right away, hopefully we can get Hasselbeck or McNabb.

yeah im all for hasselback or gradkowski # 1 and locker # 2 but what does that mean for collins? does he stick around as a third string and move rusty to the practice squad (emergency qb) ? or if they do land a vet then cut collins or is he a free agent?

If we sign a vet it'd surely be the end of Collins.
