I guess he has "character concerns"... punched his girlfriend or something? :ha:

I also wouldn't mind signing Jeron Johnson and that Rutgers SS that I forgot his name and am too lazy to google it.. LeSomething.

Vince Young - $8.5 million salary in '11 and $4.25 million bonus.
Chris Hope - $6.5 million salary in '11 (same as Ed Reed )
Justin Gage - $3.5 million salary in '11
Jovan Haye - $3.0 million salary in '11

If we cut those 4 players, we'd have an extra $25.75 million dollars in spending money.

might've been what Reiny was talking about as far as us doing some things in free agency.cutting all those players gives us some cash to shop with.

That's $25.75 million dollars that would be used to wallpaper Bud Adams condo and nothing more. We are not going to start spending money just because Fish-face is gone.

Makes more sense to me that Mcgrath would be in the middle and Spoon in his weak side spot. Has Spoon ever played the middle? We can't assume that because he is a vet he can just play anywhere.

I also wouldn't assume that Ayers will start right away.

I'm one of those who likes Mcgrath and thinks he can be a good player for us. He's fast enough to play on the weak side but needs to improve his coverage.

Spoon in the middle with McGrath on the weakside would be 2 guys not playing their ideal position. That would be problematic.

Well we can assume Vince is gone one way or another. With MR talking about possibly bringing in a veteran d-lineman and drafting 3 we can also assume Haye no longer fits our scheme and has no role here so all signs point to him as gone as well.

That leaves Hope and Gage and who know what we are thinking there but we mentioned bring in some secondary help via free agency and with Hope due a fat check that he has not performed up to he is on thin ice. Gage is aging, slow, and injury prone as of late if we bring in another WR it would be likely his time here is up.

that would give us some good money but you don't go out and blow it on a relatively weak FA class. Sign some above average guys and keep the core of the team together. You build through the draft and add/fill holes in FA. This year is different than other but the equation remains the same.

    Mike Sims-Walker
    Matt Hasslebeck
    Roman Harper/Melvin Bullitt

.....and I'm happy. The rest can be low key depth players and we will also be able to sign UDFA as well.

Will played MLB before in his career. I know he did in the STL before JL was drafted.

Any what's with all the Malcolm Sheppard love? Did I miss something?
