Volek would be an interesting candidate.

However, even if you overlook the whole Fisher/Volek pissing match of '06... the biggest knock on Volek has always been his inability to stay healthy. When he was in Tennessee, he had a number of opportunities at starting....and in each case, he was sidelined by injuries within four weeks.

On the other hand....if the Titans are hoping to get Locker on the field sooner rather than later, and they'd like to avoid the inevitable QB controversy, then Volek might be the perfect candidate...because he'll end up sidelined within six weeks.

How did he prove he was a winner when he didn't start one game? His career record as a starter with the Titans is 3-7 which might be unfair since 8 of those games were in 04.

Some of the comments about Locker's accuracy issues are ignorant. Comparing him to Brett Favre is insane. Favre completed 62% of his passes in his career.

As for repetition? Locker had well over 1000 pass attempts in college and probably 10 times that many in practice and workouts. Lock didn't get better the longer he played either.

We know that baseball pitchers have a hard time improving control problems and Rick Ankiel's control problems have him playing the outfield.

If simply throwing the ball over and over again works then why have not strong arm QBs like Boller and Ramsey improved their accuracy over time?

On 104.5 Chris Palmer said the first order of the day will be to work on Jake's accuracy. So why in the f**k did they use an 8th pick on him? Palmer has him skipping rope for crying out loud!

Out of all the Qbs we drafted the one we staked our future on was the one with the lowest completion percentage. 53.9% was the lowest of all QBs drafted!

In fact it is very likely that there will not be a rookie QB in any NFL camp this summer who had a lower career comp % than Jake Locker. Jeff Van Camp from Florida Atlantic had a higher comp %.

    ^^Maybe even less then that.

When you draft a QB of the future it pretty much precludes a team from signing a name QB both because of the money and the realization that they're signing up to essential get benched at some point in the season.

The top name FA QB will not want to come to the Titans to get benched at some point this season.

    Alll you need is:
o veteran QB that accepts their role as care-taker/mentor

o that has some starts and therefore won't throw up on themselves for a few games

    o cheap

    How about Patrick Ramsey?

Yknow I had totally forgotten about Pat Ramsey. He would be a much much better option than Collins. Solid backup, and he's young enough that he could hang around for a few years. He's the guy they wanted to get back after Vince blew up last year, but Miami had already signed him. He knows the system and the personnel somewhat I would think.

I really don't care who we bring in. I wanna see Locker with all the weapons we have.
