I'd be shocked if Houston doesn't throw a ridiculous number at him and eliminate all other competition for his services. I'm talking crazy money like $18 million. They need him bad. They were one of the worst against the pass last year, even taking a CB first round.

Nnamdi makes the most sense for a team looking to add that final piece defensively--a player that is the difference between a divisional/conference round exit and winning the Superbowl (Kind of like the Niners did with Deion back in 94). I think Tampa is a possibility, but it's still a young team. Nnamdi is around 30 years old and is likely going to seek a team that will be an immediate championship contender.

The Niners board is ridiculous right now. There are few threads that haven't evolved into some kind of "Let's sign Nnamdi!" circle jerk. It's both amusing and annoying.

Honestly I think that SF makes a lot of sense for Nmamdi, yall are probably gonna cut Clements and should just use that $7.5 Million yall will save there and use it toward Nmamdi. Yalls division is by far the weakest in the league so it could yall for the taking should yall sign him.

I'd be very happy if the Niners get Nnamdi, but I don't expect it to happen. I think there will be some better teams that will offer him more money. I don't think he would pass up playing for a superbowl contender to go play for a team with no QB and a lot of question marks just because they play in a weak division. Plus, Trent Baalke (49ers GM) has stated that the 49ers won't be big players in the free agency. Baalke and Harbaugh have both stressed building the team through the draft rather than free agency. Plus, the team is owned by cheapskates. I think Clements will be back with a restructured contract. I do think the Niners will go after a CB though (it's a huge need). Jonathan Joseph might be pursued.

At least your at the point where your GM has to say that. It's pretty much assumed every year for the Titans.

As far as Nnamdi, I'm thinking he's going to end up in Houston. It's bad for us, but it's a great move for the Texans. As much as I hate to say it, elevating their pass D may just push them over the edge this year for a deep playoff run. And Nnamdi is the easiest way to do that. With an explosive offense and a solid D, they would be dangerous this year.

I don't care how good Nnamdi is, he won't do much if the 49ers can't get pressure on the QB. Harp on Al Davis all you want, but he's always put together strong defensive lines that can pressure the QB. You better hope Aldon Smith pans out.

I agree. I think that was a lot of the problem with Clements. And I do think Aldon Smith will be good, but it's not proven. If I were Nnamdi, I would want to sign somewhere that has a proven passrush.

    I noticed that too.

The Bucs have the exact opposite of the 49er's situation, and is the better team you're talking about. Josh Freeman has established himself as a 2nd teir QB, and thats up from mediocre, which is still far as the sky for Alex Smith. He's gonna get better also as the team gives him more looks. His performance is up from 2009 as a rookie when he only threw 10 TD's. Last season he throws for 25 TD's because of a major increase in responsibility. Look at the last 8 Super Bowls, they're all won by great QB's. Tampa Bay is heading in the right direction with that. Plus they have no one they're talking about cutting. Teams about to cut players are taking steps in the wrong direction.

Joseph may be your best shot at rounding off a solid DB group.
