    "Welcome to Matt Hasselback"

Geeez... sounds like he's a tourist destination... "Welcome to Matt Hasselbeck ladies and gentlemen.... while here, feel free to enjoy the many bars and restaurants you'll find on site".

... and I misspelled his last name.

    Welcome indeed :clown:

Hasselbeck the right move for the Titans

[IMG]A team with a major leadership void targeted a player it believes will be a settling force.

And Adam Schefter reports the Titans have landedveteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who will be expected to be the first starting quarterback of the Mike Munchak regime in Tennessee.

Hasselbeck is unquestionably a good fit in the intangible department. He’s got a reputation as a stand up guy with an even-temper with both a work ethic and a sense of humor. He’s ideal in that regard as the Titans look for someone for the offense to follow and a mentor for Jake Locker, the eighth pick in the draft.

He has pre-existing relationships with GM Mike Reinfeldt, offensive coordinator Chris Palmer and Locker.

He will be 36 in September, though. He’s been banged up and is coming off a mediocre season during which he threw 17 interceptions and 12 touchdowns, while absorbing 29 sacks and posting a 73.2 passer rating. In two playoff games, his rating was 102.4.

The Titans expect that behind a line that can protect him well and with running back Chris Johnson lined up behind him as the team’s primary weapon, that Hasselbeck will have a better chance of success.

With a limited veteran quarterback market, the Titans have to feel good about this move. Any pressure for Locker to be a quick contributor is gone. A leadership void is filled with a quality guy at the most important position.

Next the team has to make sure if Johnson holds out it’s not a long and disruptive absence.

    Yay! Yay! Yay!

I've wanted this guy since we drafted Locker to be the starter/mentor, and it came true! I'm curious to see how much $ he's getting per year, we'll probably find out friday.
