Have We Offered Hall?

Hopefully looking at someone else, like Kuhn. Leach would be great, but he wants to be the highest paid FB in the league. Unfortunately, I fear that Hall will probably be back.

 

Hall isn't bad.

He's good in the passing game and a decent run blocker. I say we sign Hall for at least one more season

 

I am not so sure we will using a fullback like Hall in the new O. Watching him attempt to catch passes is somewhat painful, he's better than Lorenzo Neal was but not really what you would call a "threat" out of the backfield.

 

We should trade a draft pick for Peyton Hillis, haha. (Kidding) But I did make a prediction with a friend who's a Cleveland Browns fan that the Browns would make history and go down as the first team ever to trade a Madden cover athlete the year he was on the cover. Because they are the Browns and they are a fail.

 

Hall's game is deteriorating. He's always had problems holding on to the ball and now he has problems blocking too. He's not nearly as good as he was a few years ago. Why hold on to a below-average fullback who's declining when there are above-average ones on the market?

 

This free agency there's been two guys I've thought we've got a great chance at landing. We got the first when we signed Hasselbeck, and the other is still available. Unlike Hall, Packers John Kuhn is so clutch in short yardage situations. I have no beef with Hall, but he's only good at moving defenders, not the ball. John Kuhn does it all!

I'm pretty sure the team wants Hall back, but they're allowing him to test the market. By the looks of things this will be the only time Hall will get a shot at getting paid. I hope he's able to secure his financial future, even if it's not with us. He's a great guy.

 

If we're going towards a more west coast look, a traditional FB isn't used. We'll see.

 

While that's true, you still nedd a RB/FB on your roster who can block.

And, and think we could do worse than Hall.

 

I'm interested to see what Patrick Hill can do in the preseason. The guy is built like a fire hydrant at 5'9" 255.

Let's be honest, why spend a few million on a lead blocking fullback when you can find a guy in the 5th/6th round or an undrafted guy who can do the same thing that will cost a league minimum contract. Unless we're going to sign Leach, I'd be all for going this route.
