I wonder is we could work a trade for Osi. I know someone mentioned somewhere earlier, and it was shut down. Giants I guess want a 1st, Schefter said that it would NOT happen and a 2nd/3rd is WAY more likely.

Imagine if we could land Osi for a '12 3rd and a '13 5th. Move JJ back inside.

    Osi - Hayes - Ball
    JJ - Casey - Marks
    Smith - Casey - Haye
    Morgan - Ford - Ball

That would be a legit rotation. However, Osi wants a payday... and at 29 how many more years does he havE?

    I'm satisfied.

I would be more satisfied if they did something with Hope, but it's whatever.

    Also, if they got D-Mas.

    I LIKE:

    The Ruud signing.

    The Hasselbeck signing.

I'm very happy that they locked down Ball, Ford and Hall.

Nickey and VY are no longer Titans.

I actually like that the Titans aren't just paying CJ immediately. There seems to be some intense negotiating going on, which is a good thing. I believe when push comes to shove, CJ will be paid and will be made one of the richest men in the NFL.

    I DON'T LIKE:

    The Shaun Smith signing.

    Tony Brown getting cut.

The Graham signing...Boss, Heap or Miller would have been better targets.

I don't like how the FO is handling the DT position. There is not nearly enough depth, let alone a capable starter on the line (in my opinion).

I still think they should pick up a FA WR. It doesn't have to be a sexy player but one that can actually contribute. I still think that they will, though....cuts will be made and players will be added.

    Grade A signing

Haselbeck in general is a turd but as a stop gap starter and mentor he reprresented the best scenario out there IMO.

    Grade B signing

    Ruud-Better than Tulloch. good value

Grade F- signing and addressing of need

Smith - No amount of spin can change the fact that he is a journeyman average player.

Before Tony Brown was written off DT was our biggest need besides QB. With Brown out we now have a huge weakness inside.

No effort to sign Cullen Jenkins.According to football outsiders defensive hog ratings he was the most effective difference maker in the league at DT in 2010.
He went very late in FA to an already stacked Eagles team.

Epic fail. We drafted well but after being exposed last season we should have acted quickly to fill the need.

Talk of a new Jovan Haye in his 3rd change of body type $12mill over 3 years is just garbage.

    Grade C signing

Daniel Graham - ok player but where does it leave Cook and Stevens?
Points to conservative offence yet again?

The re-signings of Ford,Harris and Ball were positive.
Hall was crap last year. Vonte Leah and Kuhn were better players available without breaking the bank.

    Grade wtf is going on??Safety
I could understand not making a move in FA if we were committting to young guys on the team.
Retaining Hope at a salary of $6.5 mill is a wtf moment.
Hope is a great guy who has been brilliant as a player for us but last year he was outplayed consistently and looked washed up.

Graham can block. The only reason he's a better choice than any of the other guys on the market. I'm ok with the DT depth. I think we'll see more 3-4 than we think. I also think the bulkier DEs will swap into that DT2 spot in 4-3 as needed. We're making every DL similar size generally. The DTs will have maybe 10-20 lbs. on the DEs but they'll all try to be in the 285-320 range. I can't say whether there's a stater on the line or not, you may be right there, oneton.

WR is the one of the few positions we don't need to touch IMO. We have Britt, Nate, DWill, Mariani. Those 4 as our corps are more than good enough. I think Gage needs to leave. Cook can also split out wide on some downs plus whoever is our 5th can rotate in a few downs a game if needed.

My longshot call of the preseason is we see Figurs stay on the team as our returner, allowing Mariani get into the offense. I think he makes a nice play in preseason that lets us know we can have our returner and our Mariani at WR too.

With our curren LB core I think we can run a 3-4. Keep an eye out for the undrafted free agent Jonathan Cornell, he is a Tully clone(not a bad thing if used right).
I am with you guys on the safety thing, better options for the money we are spending. But I will trust the FO on this for now, you never know what is going on behind the scenes.
As for CJ he should be the last move we make so that we have an idea what we can spend on him.
One other note I like some of the one year deals we are making. It lets you have an idea on next off seasons moves, and set us up with cap space for the future.

On the Safety thing, is there anyone on the roster who could play safety that would be better than Hope? How hard of a transition would that be?

I think Robert Johnson will ease their concerns at Safety

I'd love to see Myron Rolle improve and earn a spot. He is a guy I can really get behind. Would love for him to become the caliber of player to make me want to buy his jersey.

Totally agree....I am a big Mason fan, but the need is not there IMO. I agree that we have a stable of young receivers that we need to really evaluate. Between Gage and Washington (I am guessing that Washington stays and Gage goes) we have enough vet presence.

Money would be better spent on CJ and a SS.
