Nobody can objectively watch those two videos and act like CJ is "hands down" better than JC. Like Deuce said, maybe CJ has a slightly higher 'top speed' but there's no doubt JC is every bit as quick as CJ and he's noticeably more physical.

Guys, I'm not saying CJ is worthless or easily replaceable. But let's stop acting like he's this once in a generation back and it's just so absurd to think anyone else in the league could possibly be as good as him.

completely unbiased... CJ is more physical, quiker, and faster... the better RB. I dont care tho. CJ is dead to me now after fitz's deal. oh well...

 

JC also isn't playing against defenses constantly putting 8-9 in the box, along with 1-2 players constantly playing the spy on him.....

i really want to know if we're fining him... 3,000 a day (or 30,000 i cant remember) is a huge difference than 0 per day...... it pretty much forces him to come to camp after a while... whereas if we're not fining him... he can just sit on his lazy butt all he wants...

 

From what I understand it is $30K per day, which at $800K per year salary is not incidental.

I would guess that the FO would waive the fines as a condition of him signing though.

 

Jamaal was caught from behind several times in that highlight video. CJ wasn't. Jamaal doesn't have the elusiveness that CJ has because CJ can go from 0-60 in the blink of an eye.

Also, you act like charles is the norm in the league. He isn't. The guy is one of the best cut back runners in the entire league. The guy got nearly 1500 yards last year.

Charles runs like Emmitt Smith. But CJ runs like Barry Sanders. Both barry and emmitt are great runners but there is a BIG difference in style.

And guess what: once charles can he'll be asking for major cash just like cj.

The facts are that CJ over a 3 year span has gained the most yards of any running back. That's a fact that charles, AP, Stephen Jackson LT or anybody cannot dispute.

 

1. He was caught from behind because he doesnt have the same top-end speed CJ does.

2. He doesn't have the elusiveness CJ does? You'd better watch more clips of Jamaal Charles. Their running styles are almost identical.

3. Charles runs NOTHING like Emmitt Smith. CJ runs NOTHING like Barry Sanders. Where the hell did these 2 comparisons come from?... Em Smith runs more like Barry Sanders and CJ runs more like Charles than either do the opposites.

lol @ CJ runs like Barry Sanders. CJ isn't HALF as shifty as Barry was. He doesn't run near as low, doesn't run near as patient... nothing he does is like Barry.

4. Keep in mind Charles has averaged more YPC than CJ for 2 years straight. The only reason he's not keeping up with him in yardage is because he didnt start til midseason last year- and he still got half the yards CJ did.

Also... he's doing this behind a worse offensive line. Gotta count for something.



As for teams not stacking 8-9 in the box?... Let's not pretend you know anyone on that team outside of Jamaal Charles.

Agree completely with the second line. CJ was hitting holes his first 2 years, remember that burst at the hole in a preseason game against the Rams his rookie year that resulted in a 50 yard td (that was scary quick)? Yeah, I want to see more of that. Last year, he was doing his best 01 Eddie George impression with all the dancing in the backfield.
