The Titans have a good young crop of DT's in Cassey,Klug,Sheppard and Clayton, i truly think Marks will be out played due to his nagging shoulder injury,Smith is just passing thru, and Haye is said to have put on about 40 pounds,....it'll only slow him down, it'll burn off by mid-season and he'll be 275 pounds again, I say go young now and let these young lions loose.

I know you have a man-crush on Sheppard, but I doubt he makes the team.

no but i agree in that our defense can be good sooner than people think.

Its a passing league right now and in the AFC South there are some good QB/WR combos, so its essential we start from there.

    Defensive Backs:

    Corners:
Finny/McCourty/ATV are a solid solid set of starting corners. I consider all three to be starters and envision that they will be on the field a lot next year together. Baring the titans, many teams now line up with 3 Wides (TE's are now on some teams big #3 WRs). Regardless, the nickel is a very important package in the NFL, and with these three guys we can have a good chance to stop the pass.

Now take note McCourty and ATV are young and haven't even started a full year yet - either of them, so curb your enthusiasm for this year but in the future we have what looks to be a top tier trio.

    Safty:
From what im reading both Griff and Hope are doing real well in Palmer's system. Hope apparently looks replenished and is ready to ball after a down year. I read an article saying don't cut him yet as he is a valuable leader on Defense and again is responding to the new system. Same with Griff, he is a really good player , and if they are able to figure out their miss communication problems they can be good as well.

For a while ive been banking on the Grif/Hope combo, and sometimes its good, other times not so; but we'll see moving forward how it looks. i think if we try to renegotiate with Hope as well.

    D-Line:
This is a follow up to DB section as cover guys are only as good as the rush and pressure from the line. I honestly believe that if the line gets continuous pressure, than the CB trio i was talking, along with the safety tandem about is going to break out sooner than later (possibly this year, gelling as a complete unit - please God).

Prior to the season i was banking on Morgan and Jones to be really good DEs, but as the season looms neither are 100% and this is troubling. harassing QBs from the end is essential to stopping modern day offenses, and im really pissed that we lost Jim as well. I feel like if he was still here, with Palmer's hybrid 4-3 and 3-4 they could do real good together.

In general though the line has been much debated already especially at DT, so i dont need to dwell in this, the line is a going to be a big part of how low we are in next years draft.

    LBs:
I like our guys at LB. We have our new Bull in ayers (still rock that baby blue 53 jersey), but anyway ayers is a very different player than 53, but can be just as big in terms of impact - possibly bigger. expect him to blitz a lot from over and under a DE's shoulder and should have great success doing so. i also like Ruud as an underrated signing (although i liked Tully too), he's a smart veteran player, capable of manning the middle. As for the last LB i think Will is a really good player and have been following him from before he came to the Titans. He has played well here and should fit nicely in the new aggressive system. As for when we flip 3-4 i can see Mcgrath or Curran taking it and playing well. We have depth at LB which is good too. Going in with Ayers, Will, Ruud, Mcgrath, and Curran is a good thing.

Thats a good question on 3-4 packages who do you want to see play as the 2 ILB and 2 OLB?

Are we supposed to take your opinion seriously when you think Chris Palmer is the defensive coordinator?

Delusional post is delusional. Jerry Gray is our DC by the way.

    haha, Palmer!

As for LBs, you might not want to forget Will Witherspoon, he's clearly our best LB as of right now, with Ruud injured and his flexibility.
