I have been pretty tied up today, so if this has already been posted then my bad...

I listened to Wyatt get interviewed on NFL Radio this morning...according to him, CJ wants $13.5 MM/year, Titans are offering ~$10 MM per year. For what it is worth....

If this is indeed true then i can definitely see a deal getting worked out in the near future. He is only wanting about 3 million more than what Titans are offering. If the Titans offer lets say 12.5 a year then i think we could probably snag him if it comes to that.Thats 25 million the first two seasons alone.

Desperation and panic is no doubt setting in more and more with each passing day (especially among fans). Still, they simply can't let CJ write his own check IMO. They've placed a value on him and they shouldn't stray very much from that number.

If an extra million or so would put this thing in the rear-view mirror then fine, get it done. But if they are 3-5 million apart they can't just cave. You have to remember, this isn't just all about Bud Adams wallet. This deal is going to have a pretty significant impact on the cap for years to come.

CJ is a great player, no doubt. But that doesn't change the fact that at the end of the day he is just a RB. Tying up too much money in that position just is not a smart move in today's NFL.

Lets say the Titans make a final offer in the 10 million a year range and put that offer on the table for it to be signed. When is the latest CJ can come in if he does decide to go ahead and sign the deal? Could it extend into the regular season two or three games before he decides to sign if it does come to that or does this have to be signed before the start of regular season?
