Newton just threw a TD pass but but but he's got a new coach and new team and didn't have OTA's they should be playing someone else! He's not ready for this! What are they doing?! And no, it's not a coincidence I wanted Ron Rivera as our next head coach but we messed around and missed out on him.

Playing Hasselbeck lets Locker learn more. Hasselbeck is a class act and ask Aaron Rodgers if being a top pick on the bench hurt him. He went through many years on the bench and several as starter before his super bowl. There's no reason not to put your best product on the field and we are with Hasselbeck. He's a great leader and incredibly open.

This team is all about best players playing, no matter the age or position. People are going to be responsible for their actions. Hass took responsiblity and Munchak has already chastised a lot of people for their actions.

The fact is, if the D didn't allow that reception to Thomas, we'd have a great deal more time to drive downfield.

ummm we need 15-20 yards to win and he threw the hail marry? Is that what you call making a play?

#8 taking the blame. It was an awful throw, but there is a lot more blame to go around instead of just on Hass

Very dumb throw by Hass at the end. Stupid and greedy. We needed 20 yards, he bombs it for 45. Looked like a Rusty Smith deep ball. He panicked and tossed it deep. Even a throw away would have been good. Just plain dumb.

Mariani really messed up too. He cost us the 20 yards we ended up needing by not catching it. He was right next to the ball and he was past the 20 yard line, all around dumb decision not to catch. Even if it bounces out for a touch back, he still costs us 2-3 yards. No benefit by letting it bounce at all. If he catches it, we're in FG range at the end there. Does Hass make that same throw in that scenario? Maybe, Maybe not...

    All around analysis:

    Offense:

    1. We abandoned the run game too quick. CJ was very ineffective though.
    2. Britt is a stud
    3. Hass was decent minus the last throw
    4. Offense took too long to gel
    5. DWill was nowhere to be seen
    6. Cook wasn't on the field enough

    Defense:
    1. Horrible start but got significantly better
    2. Still giving up yards over the middle
    3. McCourty was great
    4. Ayers looked awesome
    5. Klug was barely on the field?
    6. Ruud was pretty disappointing
    7. McRath is just awful.

People will talk about how bad the D was but that's not true. Our offense did nothing until the 4th quarter, mainly 3 and outs; it felt like the defense was on the field the entire time and they only gave up 16 points all game; 6 of which were 2 pretty difficult FG's by Scobee. The goal line stand was great. One more turnover would have been nice though.

The way you make up for this is by beating Baltimore next week. Unlikely, but that's why the play the games, right?

Remember last year we looked amazing week 1 and awful week 2? You never know. Maybe we go from bad to good week 1-2 or the Ravens go from good to bad.

    Will see.

People seriously need to chill with the Locker chants. It was one game. And the first game after a lockout. I know we all expected better but don't forget we are in a major transition period right now.

Aside from that awful INT to end the game (and it was awful) Hasselbeck played well. A little too 'Checkdown Charlie' for my liking but again, it's one game so I'm not going to crucify him for it. He was far from our biggest problem today.

With the way this o-line looked today I can't imagine why anyone would want to put a rookie in there.

    Really, ya think?

One started and did ok. One is hurt and couldn't even suit up to backup.

    Why don't football fans think?
This game had nothing to do with conservative...
We ran the ball 13 times for 43 yards and threw it 34 times for 263 yards.
Even that info isn't important, it's about players making plays. EVERY play is designed to be successful and breakdowns by players are the reason things fail.
