What does anyone in this forum know about Munch's involvement? There were maybe only a handful of shots of him on the sideline and I don't recall any of them being when the team was coming on or off the field. He's talking to his coordinators throughout the game and allowing them to do their job. He's able to comment (and overturn) any call during the game.

As for his emotion and intensity, the best head coach in the league has the same demeanor. While some coaches react to what just happened on the field, others are thinking about the next play, personnel matchups or whatever. Some of you want him to run up and down the sideline slapping butts or getting in the face of a player?

    From his press conference yesterday:

(on if he ever considers getting more vocal with the players)

"I think you always do that. I think individually, not just myself but the individual coaches, the coordinators, we all do it different ways. I go in there at halftime and they are getting after the guys pretty good. If a guy needs that, I think a coach needs to do that. If he doesn’t, then I think you treat guys differently and certain guys need that and a lot of guys don’t. I don’t think there are any magic words that are going to make some guy play better because their coach said this so I decided I’m going to play better."

How about "you miss that assignment again and your butt will taste the pine"? I totally disagree with Munch that there are not words that offer extra inspiration and effort.

I like Munch and I'm anxious to see where he gets this team. But he did have a "lost" expression in those few shots we saw. I need some reassurance he is ripping our offensive line a new azz for their chitty performance in the Jags game.

I like and agree with this....At the same time, I thought Munch looked a bit like a deer in headlights on the sidelines.

I wish he looked a little bit more like his bronze bust in the HOF, on the sidelines.

He ALWAYS has that expression. He has large eyes. Review pictures of him and you will realize that. And how can any coach be called out after one game? Geez, people! Give the guy at least two or three games before you want to shoot him! :irked::sad2:

That's it. Fire Munch. He hasn't lived up the emotional sidelines expectations of one fan - after one game.

Really though, the complete and utter critical BS that people come up with here in regard to these threads is hilarious.

The best head coach in the league was 5-11 in his first season at his current team and 0-2 the next season until Drew Bledsoe got injured and then his team went on to win the superbowl with an unknown QB at the time. No coach wants to gamble his head coaching career on a rookie QB but I think its time to put locker in and see what he can do because in this age of football... You can't "game manage" your way into the playoffs/superbowl and hasselbeck is way past his prime and that strategy hasn't worked in nearly 10 years. Remember last year, when Seneca Wallace and Charlie Whitehurst were in the mix for taking his starting job? If munch wants to win.. he's gonna have to gamble.

Matt Ryan, Mark Sanchez and Joe Flacco would like to inform him that Rookie QBs can make the playoffs in this league.

I'm one of those that think all thats needed is a spark and the chemistry and way a team plays can change instantly.Yeah its probably a bit too soon to put Locker in but i think when he does finally get to play there will be a big difference in the way this team plays and is looked at by others. If i remember correctly KC came in and we started to go on this major losing streak before this rookie QB(Young) came in and we started winning games. In this instance(2011) though i think once this rookie gets the job it won't be a repeat of 2006 because once Locker gets his grip on the starting job i don't think he will let it go or lose it back to the veteran. When its all said and done i do like Munchak's chances because his job in the long run will be tied to how well Locker ends up doing.I'll give Hasselbeck a good while to prove himself like most other fans but i won't hesitate to voice my vote for Locker if Hasselbeck struggles are prolonged. It will be interesting to see how Munchak handles the QB position in the long run.I know he won't stubbornly keep the veteran in the mix way past the point where change is due.If a change is needed i think he will act accordingly.

He certainly gambled on the passing game and the Bironas kick last week. But I don't see how whether or not he is willing to gamble has anything to do with his emotion or drive on the sidelines.

I'm sure Munch has much the same expression as he plowed over LBs during a Hall of Fame career.

what did all three of those QBs have in common? Great defenses and running games. Our defense is still trash, we couldn't even stop a Jags team that brought in their starting QB off the street 3 weeks ago and no name WRs. B, CJ sucks and we'd have a better shot at a great running game with Harper and Ringer running between the tackles and playing the Reggie Bush game with CJ0K.
